I need help finding a primary care physician that will support my decission to have wls. I just moved to Maricopa County from Pinal County and in doing so I had to switch AHCCCS plans, which really messed me up cause my previous doctor supported my decission. I have been working on getting this approved for over 2 years now. I have gotten clearance from everyone but the Psyc eval, which the insurance denied at first, but approved right after I moved here, but it was approved through my old AHCCCS plan and I was told I would need it approved through my new health plan. Old plan was University Family Care and new plan is Phoenix Health Plan. I have seen Dr. Daniel Fang and now need a good supportive PCP. I live just SW of Phoenix and any suggestions would really be greatly apprecitated.

Chandler has a support group for EVERYONE.  It's not specific to the lapband but there are a bunch of lapbanders that come.

We honestly haven't met for a while  but recently decided to start back up again.  We'll have ag roup in Sept and in Octo and then a Holiday party with groups beginning again in January.  The 4th Tuesday.  

Frye and Dobson ...enter from the East main entrance by the E.R. side.  Take the elevator to the lower level and turn left towards teh pharmacy.  Quick right to conference rooms 1 and 2.  We go from 6 to 7:30 and sometimes go to dinner afterwards for more chatter!

We have a support site that you are welcome to join.  It's not very active right now but we post the group updates there and will give the meeting details.

I understand that Chandler Regional Hospital has a lapband support group on the 4th Tuesday of each month.  Does anyone know where at the  hospital the group meets?

December 21st sounds like a GREAT day to start a new healthy life!!!  Sleep apnea almost always disappears after WLS so you have great things to look forward to!

The road to skinny & healthy is often bumpy but the ride is sooooo worth it!!!!  Hang in there!
