I have sleep apnea...
To follow-up on my posting....I'm female, single, 44 yrs old and live in Tempe. (BMI 58.5?) Dr. Blackstone is my surgeon of choice and I have attended her seminar last year. I have been carrying my WLS paperwork around for months now...I have my letters of medical necessity from my 4 specialists; already discussed with my HR department and Insurance carrier. And I have been working for a therapist on my remaining "issues"/fears...after I spent a year doing research on WLS and then got scared. So I'm taking "baby steps" now and am closer to mailing in my paperwork to DR. Blackstone's office and putting it all into motion.
As for the "white noise" reference re: the cpap machine...that means to me it sounds like air rushing by...a distraction at first but once you are used to it...it kind of blocks out other sounds and for me soothing! Some people have those sound machines that can play the sounds of the ocean, rain, waves, etc...which are actually called "white noise" to help you relax. Hope that helps clarify? JMF
