Met with Dr. Fang's staff today. Was sooo happy my vitamin levels were all normal. I could have skipped out of the office all the way to the car. Have heard some people have trouble with B12, but mine was normal. Don't know for sure why mine was, but must be doing something right. Had worried they would say I hadn't lost enough weight. My weight loss is now 70 lbs. Hadn't been able to do much walking as having pain in ankle. Doctors don't know why. Go figure! Guess they don't know everything. Anyway, I'm right where I should be with my weight loss. I'm still thrilled when I run into people I haven't seen for awhile and they don't recognize me. Yeeha!! Good luck to everyone out there considering surgery. It is really life changing. I feel soo good.

That's great!!! Congrats!!! I have Dr. Fang too. Are the follow-up appointments "free" (covered with surgery co-pay)? Do they take blood work at the appointment? Glad everything checked out okay and that you are on track and doing good! That's awesome!! Keep up the good work!

With my insurance, Pacific Care Secure Horizons, my co-pay stopped 90 days after surgery so I had to pay what I would to see a specialist. When he sees you when your about 3 months out, he gives you a scrip for bloodwork which you have done couple weeks prior to your next visit. Have a new friend that is also patient of Dr. Fang, and she told me that when I'm about a year out with no problems he will discharge me. Hope this was some help. I had to get rid of all my clothes; nothing fits....sooo sad. hee, hee Gave them to another friend that is going to have surgery with Dr. Fang.

Trish; I think it might be upto your insurance. I have been to Dr. Juarez/Fangs office so much in 4 months I have not had to pay a co-pay yet. I had my RNY in November and my Gallbladder out in February. I have Greatwest insurance. Although I did ask the gals on my last visit. She said that I get 60 days from my surgery date not having to pay co-pays. My next appt isn't until June so I guess I will finally have to pay one. haha. Hope this helps. cynthia

Thanks! Your joints will feel sooo much better after you start losing weight. I'm surprised at how good I feel. My family says I look healthier than they have seen me look in the past 15 years. It is soo awesome; life changing. Good luck.

I am glad to hear you are feeling great about your vitamins and weight loss. I am at 4 months and down 60. I was beginning to think I was loosing to slow. I guess everyone is different. I have a spur on my left hip. I started having hip pain about 2 years ago. I just delt with it. After my surgery the pain got worse. My PCP did some tests and found the spur. It seems to hurt more now at 215 lbs then at 275. The physical therapyst said that the loss of rapid weight puts your joints in shock. That extra padding helps the inflamation stay minimzed. When you loose weight the inflamation can expand and make the pain worse. I will be done with therapy soon. I sure hope it will help in the long term. Hang in there, maybe your ankle will improve with time and good support shoes. Hope this helps. 70 lbs. Good job!!!!! Cynthia
