What a great day last Saturday was for me! Thanks, ObesityHelp. I learned so much. Terrific!! I was particularly grateful for the time spent talking about the problem of weight regain and all the practical suggestions for long term maintenance. I have just 2 suggestions for next time: 1. I really liked having the vendors there, but I didn't like the "commercials" from the stage, right before lunch. I suggest that you keep the "expert stuff" completely separate from the "selling stuff" in every possible way, so that the conference content doesn't lose credibility and so that we patients don't end up feeling like a captive audience. 2. There are other good surgeons, other good support programs, and other good experts in the Phoenix area. I hope that you will make a real effort, next time, to involve more of these folks. The 2 doctors were interesting and helpful, but they were also advertising for themselves and featuring their own patients pretty exclusively. For those of us who know of other specialists in town, I hope you will make a real effort to involve the broadest possible group of people from the local bariatric field, not just the "stage performers."
