How can we petition the insurance companies so they will pay for the needed plastic surgery. If they cover our wls surgery why shouldnt they pay for the needed plastic surgery. If you have any ideas on how we can petition the companies lets do it. Why should we have to pay for the plastic surgery. Thanks for the help Kathy

This is what I've heard. Insurance companies are more likely to cover plastic surgery if it has been documented in your medical records that you want it (just mentioning it at your visits). And if your doctor agrees that it is medical necessity - like you are having back pain from sagging stomach skin, or rashes (intertrigo) in skin folds often. I've had that even now during summers, so that's already in my file. So just mention it to your doctor at every visit, even if that's not the reason of the visit. Mention it so it's documented.
