Searching for Psychiatrist
I am hoping some of you Valley of the Sun folks can help me. I need to get a second opinion/psych evaluation done. The guy I went to decided that I have too many childhood abuse issues to qualify for surgery ("at this time", as he said). At age 58, I think if these things were going to make me suicidal, as he suggested, I would have been there already. At any rate, I need to find someone in the East Valley to do a new evaluation and the testing that I understand others have had done (my guy did not do this).
I am determined to NOT let this setback stop me from WLS...it was a difficult decision to come to, and now that I have reached it, nobody but nobody is gonna tell me NO!
Thanks for your help.
Eileen
Eileen,
I had an absolutely wonderful Psychiatrist who was familiar with WLS and even though I was not as heavy as alot of people are starting this journey she did recommend me. She sat and talked with me for at least 45 min. and then I did the 500+ questionnaire. It only took me another 45 min. to do. Her name is Alicia Garcia. I believe she also goes by Abby Garcia. Her address is in Phoenix. Below is the information to get in touch with her. Good luck!

Thanks for the information. Dr. Oser is closer to home (Gilbert) and another friend also recommended her, so I will call there.
As an update...I called the other Dr.'s office, and got another run around. They wont even release my records to me! Gonna send them a certified letter with a SASE giving them one week to send the report, or I see a lawyer. The law says I have a right to my records...and what is in there that they so desperately don;t want me to see. The office did, however, recommend a specialist in eating disorders who just happens to rent office space from this good doctor. HMMM!
