Well I ended up having my surgery on the 19th of november instead of the 18th. Due to some scheduling problems and I did not find out until I was at the hospital checking in for surgery!!! But it all worked out and they got me in the next morning. I must say my nerves were a little shaken, but I just kept on praying and I was fine. The surgery went perfect, I woke up in recovery and felt fine. If I had to take a guess about 10-15 minutes after I came to, I had some muscle spasms in my stomache! It felt exactly like a charlie horse in the calf, but in the stomache instead. But I just stayed calm, took some deep breathes and I got thru them. They continued for the next 24 hours, but I just would breathe thru them and it wasn't that bad. My hospital care was amazing and over all I am recovering well. I am 9 days out today and have lost 20 pounds and I seem to keep my liquids down fine. Though I am so sick of vanilla or chocolate protein! If there is any ?'s for anyone who is pre-op, I would be glad to share anything I have learned so far for survival Take care everyone and thanks again for the support!
Wendy - my surgery is on the 8th. That is a week from this coming Monday. I am nervous about it so have decided to focus on the fact that two weeks from today I will have been home for two days and on the losing side of life. Two weeks is going to fly by. I am having my surgery at the Bariatric Treatment Center in Scottsdale and my Grand Opening will be performed by Dr. Eric Schlesinger.
