Has Anyone on AHCCCS Been RECENTLY Approved for VSG?

Hi everyone!
I haven't been on the board in quite some time. About a year ago I had my mind made up to have VSG however, was never able to fund it. Now, due to other issues, I am on AHCCCS (due to a knee injury that specialist says will improve with weightloss...kind of a catch 22)

I would like to hear from anyone that has been recently approved for VSG. I am possibly open to LapBand but only if cannot get approval for VSG.

I would also like to hear about GOOD Arizona doctors that accept AHCCCS and perform VSG. I live in Bullhead City (a lot closer to Vegas than Phoenix), therefore I am already expecting to have to go some distance to Phoenix or Tucson...so I am open to any AZ doctor I CAN TRUST!!

Hello, I just had gastric bypass on june 20th this year and i have apipa through AHCCCS.  They will pay for GB or Lap band but not the sleeve.  I live in Tucson and i had to get my surgery done in Phx at ST Luke's by Dr. Hilario Juarez.  It is a tough job to get it approved but if you are willing to put in the work and possibly get denied once or twice, you can do it.
