Drain Tube

Hello Everyone!

I go in on Tuesday for my surgery.  One thing I was wondering about - does the drain tube get taken out at the hospital or how long does it stay in?

Almost to the losers bench!

Hey Jackie,

I had my surgery on Thursday, and came home with my drain in. I call tomorrow and make my appointment with Dr Schlesinger for 2 weeks, or he said sooner if the drainage is very minimal and clear.  Hope it helps.

Hey there Jackie!

Only 3 wake-ups til the NEW YOU!!!!  Making The Bed

Ask Dr. S about the drain tube.  Some of his patient's don't even have them.  I didn't.  I think he makes the decision while in the O.R. based on your personal situation.  ....  "If" you go home with them then you may have them for up to 2 or more weeks or they could come out at your first post-op.  They're not a biggie.  I had them for quite a while when I had my tummy tuck and you hardly even notice them (OOMV)....Dr. S is the man in the "know"!

Sooooo......Will you p.m. me your phone numbers again so I can do a little "angeling"???

You are going to be one very gorgeous LOSER on our team bench!!!!    Gorgeous

Hey Jackie,

Tuesday is almost here. You will be on the loser's bench. I just sent you a PM. I had my drain in for almost 10 days. They are no big problem. I even forgot they were there and than I snagged them and that hurt alittle bit. I still would like to be your angel. The more angels you have the better. Get some good sleep in before Tuesday. I will talk to you later.

Miss Jackie

No need to worry about a silly  tube.  if you get to bring one home attached  Just find a place to tuck it ..  Underwear, bra ( Bette Sue story - ask Joyce  )

But as Joyce said - not everyone  gets one.

Will we see you at the meeting this week-end ?

Thanks everyone!  I know - seems silly to worry about some drain tube when I'll have a big owie to think about instead, but I get a little light headed when I think about the details of what they do for the procedure and the after care!

Can't believe I have less than 24 hours to go!  The hospital has already called me twice to ask questions and so I keep thinking - wow - this is really going to happen.  I was tearing up a little this AM thinking that I am so blessed to be able to have this opportunity to FINALLY be able to get this weight off and be a "normal" weight.

Jackie-

It depends on the surgeon and what the needs are, so no worries....whatever is going to be best towards ultimate healing!
