Questions about PV Hospital
on 9/1/08 9:27 pm - AZ
Good Morning-
As the Bariatric Program Coordinator for PVH, we are working to make your visit at the hospital a "very good" experience. Since taking this position in January, the 2NS staff is working to meet the needs of all of the bariatric patients and surgeons. I would like to be able to say that we do not use per diem staff, but like most healthcare facilities, we attempt at all times to utilize our own CORE staff members, and on occasion utilize per diem staff.
To answer your questions- yes, all the bariatric rooms are private. I can make sure that there is a fold out bed for your husband if he chooses to stay. Please advise when you will be here, and I can arrange that ahead of time. The hospital does have a wi-fi system, though I have never used it, so I am not sure what type of reception there is. I do know there is free access to PC's in the main lobby.
The clinical pathways that have been set is that all bariatric patients walk every hour during daytime hours, and every two hours at night. We keep sugar free jello in a refrigerator on the station, and broth, tea etc. I am attempting to increase the needed dietary items for bariatric patients, but sometimes it takes longer than planned.
If you have any questions regarding your upcoming stay at PVH, please do not hesitate to contact me 602-923-5612. Best Wishes and I will look forward to seeing you soon...

Lori
I have to say that I did have a problem with them bringing me carbonated beverages and coffee when I couldn't have it. I tried all of the broths while I was there for two days and I loved the vegetable broth. I was there as a plastic surgery patient but it should have been in my records that I was a bariatric patient as well.
Thanks again...
