You know all the hospitals and surgeons are constantly changing who they take and don't take.  Have you called Scottsdale recently to check?  You must call your insurance and see who else they have on their list!  Get out of there... Lyns

I've been making some phone calls to surgeons today and so far no luck, but I will call Scottsdale right now.

Scottsdale takes Tricare Standard, but not Tricare Prime.

I am so glad now that I gave up on Dr. Villares before I got disappointed again.  I have decided to wait until I can leave AZ to have the surgery.  Here is a DR that is not on the list but he will take Tricare Prime.  Call them and they will let you know that they take it, hope you have better luck than I did but guess I am just not one to take crap from a DR.  I am sure he will do you good. Hi Robin, I havn't seen you on the boards for awhile, so I thought you guys PCS'ed.  Do you have an assignment yet?  Thanks for Dr. Simons name, I will give them a call today.  I am going to keep going and get this procedures.  I'm retired AF, so no chance of PCS'ing any time soon, so I HAVE to find a way to get it done here.  I really wish you the best for your next assignment and please visit the AZ boards every now and then to let us know how things are going for you. Hey Robin, I'm pretty sure Dr. Eric Schlesinger is now contracted with TriCare Prime?  He has a pt seminar and support group coming up this coming Saturday if you're interested.  He did my Revision so I'm going to try and make the support group as well.  He invites everyone from all programs to attend his groups.....  Maybe I'll C U there

Yay!  I just found out that Dr. Schlesinger is having 2 aestheticians there to discuss skin care during and after weight loss!  He'll be there too for Q & A!  ALL are invited so I'll be there too! C U then!!!  (This Saturday .....TOMORROW!)  I'm the shy type MShawn62 so please introduce yourself!

When I try calling Tricare they tell me the same thing thats in their on-line search and that is that they have no bartiatric surgeons on the list.  You have to get a referal from your PCM on base and then the tricare office on base sets that up.  I've done it twice now and both times the only doctor they would match me with is Dr. Villares.  I'm goint to take the name Robin gave me plus one I got yesterday (Dr. Schlesinger) up to the Tricare office and see if they can give me a referal to one of them.  You were right about doctors changing who they take, I'm pretty sure I called Dr. Schelsinger back in November and they didn't take Tricae Prime and yesterday they said they do, so things are looking a little less bleak for Tricare Prime holders.
