I'm going in to visit with Dr. Juarez on Friday, February 15th and to do the seminar. Anyone here use Dr. Juarez?

Dr. J was my surgeon on 9/20/06.  I have lost 134 pounds and am 7 pounds from my goal.

Thank you for your post ... any complications? Anything you wish you'd known before the procedure?

I did my homework before surgery and I visit this site, still to this day, everyday.  I had not complications and I would do it again in a heartbeat.  Don't hesitate to ask Dr. J questions because he doesn't seem to offer much info unless you do.  If you talk to him, he will definitely talk to you.  He was very talkative to my other half and I. :)

Dr. Juarez is great. Now just understand he's not the most talkative person but as a surgeon you will be in great hands. Also his office staff lately, what I read from this site, leaves something to be desired. But I highly recommend him. I had my surgery on 12-27-06. Have lost 130 lbs and no complications. Good luck on your new exciting journey. Pam

Pam ~ Thanks for replying and sharing. Would you mind sharing what his post-op protocol is like? Especially coffee/caffeine?

They suggest you don't do caffeine and if you do you have to double on your water intake.  Personally my tummy does not tolerate it at all.  Even decaf.  I drink about a half a cup an pitch the rest.  I just stick to Chai Tea or hot chocolate protein drink if I want something hot.

I've spoken to so many people with different surgeons and have gotten varying answers. I am a major gourmet coffee person so I have been actively trying to decrease my intake ... I just don't know how far down I have to go. I know I'll have my questions answered this Friday, but I was hoping someone could share with me beforehand.  Thank You.

Your body will tell you.  Believe me.  No matter what the nutritionist says you can have or not have.  There are still foods that I cannot tolerate.
