I AM SUPPOSED TO HAVE AN MRI ON MY LOWER BACK ON WEDNESDAY.  I AM VERY UNCERTAIN ABOUT THIS DUE TO THEIR BEING SOME METAL IN THE PORT.  ANYONE ELSE HAVE AN MRI AFTER LAP BAND REPLACEMENT?  I JUST DON'T WANT ANYTHING TO GO WRONG.  I SEEMED TO BE GETTING A WISHY WASHY KIND OF PERSON IN THE MRI OFFICE, SAYING YES WE HAVE PEOPLE WITH PORTS, WHAT DID YOU HAVE PUT IN, WHEN I TELL HER THE LAB BAND, SHE SAYS IT IS OK???  ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT.

I would suggest to call the MRI location and ask them.  They would know best on what to do.  Most metal used in surgical procedures are okay for MRI's.  My dad has rod and screws in his back from spinal fusion surgeries and he doesn't have problems with MRI's.

Thanks for the support.  I just did not think that the girl in the MRI office understood what I was talking about.  I will just have to reitterate to them that the port is there and it is part of the lap band.
