hi, my name is vicki. I havent had the lap band surgery but i really want to. I weight 270lbs, would like to lose 120lbs I dont have health insurance so this has been difficult, i am thinking of getting United Health care and also thinking of Dr. Simpson as my surgeon. I would love to communicate with more people who have had the surgery and meet some people in Glendale or Phoenix, AZ

HI Vicki, You can chat specifically with some of Dr. Simpson's patients on his message board. It is at www.obesitydr.com (I'm having a brain freeze....it might be drsimpson.com) Anyway, you can go to the Patient area and then the Message board and read some of his patients posts. As for United Health Care. It's great insurance and we find it to be the easiest one to get quick approval with the fewest hurdles for the pre-op patient. Good luck with your journey! Joyce
