Hi Ann,
Whew! That is quite a month for you and your family. No time is good to deal with cancer, but the holidays and this crazy weather sure hasn't made it any easier, I'm sure.
You know we're here to hold you up when you need us, to pleas keep us in the loop!
Gentle hugs to you and Charles.

Topic: Good morning! Anybody have any really good New Year resolutions?
Hello everyone. How are you all? I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I can't remember the last time we had snow on Christmas day. My husband and I played Taxi for people at work that day that couldn't get there because of the weather. It was a little scary but we all made it in one piece. We still have a lot of ice on the ground but the roads were clear yesterday. I hear more snow may be on the agenda for today. I'm still fighting the smoking addiction. My hubby and I have set a new date for Jan. 1 to quit cold turkey this time. No smoking aids, just going to quit and tough it out. Also, I plan to start back to exercising. I have used every excuse in the book not to do it, lol. I'll never get those last few pounds I want to shed off if I don't. What have you all been up to? I have missed you all. I have a hard time this time of year. I think it's the lack of sunlight. I fight depression this time of year with the short days. I used to love the cold weather. Now I have just been freezing, lol. I guess it's because I no longer have all that extra insulation. I sure don't miss it though, lol. I'm off for another day of work. This is crunch week where I have to tie up all the end of month loose ends and as always, I'm behind and busting my buns trying to get it all done on time. Wish me luck.

It might be a little late but you can try mixing 1 tsp of liquid benedryl and 1 tsp of liquid antiacid such as maalox or mylanta and swi**** around your mouth really well then swallow it. It helps a lot with any type of sore mouth. It will cure any mouth ulcers in a day or two usually too. If your tongue was swelling, I'd say something else is going on besides just thrush. Both the yogurt and the gentin violet are good cures for thrush. Were you taking antibiotics? Any time you are on them always eat yogurt every day and you usually won't end up getting any yeast infections. This is probably too late but good to know for the future.

I am glad you are able to drive even if for short distances. God is in the middle of everything that is for sure.

Topic: RE: Dead.
Ok, I get the message, lol. I have been lurking some. My life has been really hectic lately. I broke a rib giving my dogs a bath, and several days later I had to go in for a CT scan of my chest because of a node they saw on one of my lungs when they xrayed my ribs, I passed out in the kitchen that same night and fell out flat on my back (and my poor dog) and ended up taking a ride to the ER in an ambulance. I was sooo embarrassed. So there I was back getting a CT scan done of my neck and head that was killing me from the fall, lol. All is good on the health front. I think I passed out from low blood sugar. I hadn't eaten anything most of the day I was so busy at work. The node on my lung is the same one I've had for years. Work has been very stressful with the holidays and trying to juggle all the extra projects this time of year brings. I'll be glad when the new year gets here. I guess this time of year is tough on the board with everyboing busy with the holidays. I know this year I had a rough time resisting all the food around. I made it through without going overboard though. By the time I cooked Christmas dinner, I couldn't eat any because I got full just tasting things, lol. It was still fun though. I promise to get back on track and I will try to check in every day.

Thanks. I'm still not used to the smaller me yet. I guess it takes the mind a little longer to catch up, lol.

Thanks Susan. I hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas. I had to work but it was still a quiet day. We had a family supper on Christmas Eve. It was nice.
Topic: What a month!!!
The month of December is just a blur for me. Ever since the Monday after Thanksgiving, we have been in and out of the doctor office or the hospital. I don't know if you all remember but we found out that my husband, Charles, has colon cancer. He had surgery on December 14Th. Two weeks ago today. They removed about 12 inches of his colon. The lymph nodes they removed also tested positive for cancer. She also took a biopsy of his liver, which turns out he also has Cirrhosis of the liver. It is a non alcoholic kind. Charles has never been much of a drinker. Anyway, we finally got to come home from the hospital on December 22. He had problems while in there. Had to have three pints of blood, 16 bags of potassium, and that many bags of magnesium. He had some infection in the incision. Surgeon had to open the incision up and leave it open to drain. They also put in a port for when he starts his chemo.
I was so glad we got out of there before Christmas.
He is doing better, but he is nauseous all the time. So we finally got a prescription for something to help with that. We go back to the surgeon tomorrow and to the oncologist Thursday. So we will see what happens then.
I'm sorry for not getting back to you guys sooner, but it has just been a whirlwind around here.
Hope you all had a great Christmas and I wish you all a very Happy New Year!!!
