I had the sleeve laproscopically done 12/2/09 by Dr Roller in NW Arkansas. I don't think I could have asked for a more qualified surgeon. He is actually a teacher of this procedure.
I absolutely love my sleeve. I've lost 30+ pounds since my surgery & that includes a two week stall. I highly recommend the sleeve as it doesn't carry with it the risks that the bypass does. The DS is typically performed as a second part to the sleeve, IF further procedure is called for. Most people do very well with the sleeve alone.
Congratulations on quitting smoking. That's not an easy thing to do. Like you, I gained weight (about 40 additional pounds) when I quit smoking & my start weight was 300#.
Enjoy the seminar. You will learn a lot there. Good luck.

Rowing along here, how about you???
Yesterday was a bust. Honestly I think there's a conspiracy against me buying fish. I bought some Mahi Mahi for dinner and it was BAD, threw it away and went out to dinner. So, my fish dinner at home ended up costing me $35. Dang.
So, here's today's plan. Let's see if it works out the way I want it to.
BTW, I bought a Wii fit plus yesterday and wore myself out on it. It is sssoooooooo much fun!
latte
crustless calzone
latte
cottage cheese w/ applesauce
leftover steak and green beans
1/2 PB&J on double fiber bread
benefit bar
ground lamb patty, broccoli and sweetpotato
That's only a little over 1200 cals, so I'll edit to add whatever else I can get in.
Hugs and good rowing to one and all!

Rhonda, this was a good food day. Sorry you're sick again, though! I'll be glad when it warms up and you can start to get healthy again.
Thanks for posting this, we gotta keep this barge rolling along!
I didn't make my goal of 1400 cals yesterday, missed it by about 200, but I got a late start on breakfast, so that put everything to follow off schedule. Wasn't about to eat 200 cals before bed, so it is what it is.
What's in red are the edits.
latte-1% milk, SF syrup
b- mini bagel w/ ff cream cheese and 2 thin slices of crisp bacon
latte
s- almonds and string cheese
l--going out shopping, so I'm planning ahead for lunch at IHOP. They have some AMAZING grilled tilapia didn't happen, had a Fresco steak soft taco from TB
s- a slice of Debbies Crustless Calzone Also didn't happen, got wound up in my new WiiFit Plus
d--Mahi Mahi, sweet potato, broccoli This didn't happen either since my fish was BAD...ended up going out to eat at Texas Roadhouse. Best steak I've had for a long time!
Okay that's the plan so far Well, I'm way below my target and not much hope of getting too much more in. Oh well. S**t happens lol
Are your arms getting toned up from rowing???

Topic: Seeking Advice
Hi Everyone! I'm seeking advice from my fellow overweight R-Can-Sawyers. Here's my story. I'll reach the big 6-0 this year. I've always been moderately overweight. I quit smoking about 6 months ago. Since that time, I have gained approximately 10 lbs per month. I now weigh over 300 lbs... but hey, I don't smoke. Dieting doesn't work for me. I lose the weight then gain it back, plus some. I'm now considering surgical remedies. At first I was attracted to the band, but after reading many testimonials, DS is starting to look better. I currently have a seminar scheduled with the Wellborn Clinic. I have no idea where to begin or who to ask about what! Any suggestions?
Topic: Did our barge sink??
Hey gang,
Yesterday was a pretty good day for me food wise.
Breakfast 1/2 biscuit and 1 fried egg
Lunch 1/2 tuna fish w/reduced fat mayo on 1 slice whole grain bread
Dinner 3 oz grilled lean pork chop and 1/4 cup baked sweet potato w/butter buds
Didnt do any snacking, so I prolly missed my calorie count, but since I have been sick, eating has been a chore. I have replaced my alcohol w/sugar free cranberry juice, so I prolly drank 1/2 gallon of that yesterday and one 20 oz diet dr. pepper.
Come on peeps, what did you eat?? Good bad or indifferent!!
Was so proud to see the sunshine, even if I had to stay indoors to look at it, as the wind was so strong, but the sun was beautiful!!! Hope you all had a great Monday, mine was spent on meds and inside, but was a good day I suppose.
Hugs to all,
Rhonda D.

Topic: RE: Jeans.... Can't hurt to ask!!
Another good source for clothes is e-bay. My daughter started buying lots of certain sizes for me as I was shrinking, really, really cheap.
Topic: RE: Jeans.... Can't hurt to ask!!
If you have some jeans I can probably work out sending some money for s/h through Paypal or something. I'm not worried about shirts... I can wear all mine huge until I grown down into my husbands LOL! But, I can't quite wear his jeans lol!
