Susan, do you have any trouble eating oranges?  Ive been afraid to eat them regular, afraid the skins on each slice would plug me up (like plastic in a gas tank, kind of plug).  So I use my citrus peeler and slice open each slice and only eat the orange inside each slice.

Is it okay to eat it regular?

I love the seafood delight with the boiled shrimp, crabmeat, zucchini, and I don't know what else, I think mussells or something, but its so good.  Theres not much for me to eat at the chinese rest. and I hate that ours has a sushi roll bar, because I loved sushi rolls pre-op with pickled ginger slices (so very california of me, I know LOL).  And I really can't eat them now.  I ve tried, but I cant chew that seaweed up well enough and the sticky rice is gonna stick no matter how I eat it, LOL.

Ive only been to chinese twice since surgery.  I agree with Susan, its just not worth it for me to eat there.  Both times I ate there was with other people who were paying.  And majority ruled they wanted chinese.

I don't miss other buffet places cause I can make that food myself at home, but not chinese.

Hi Ken,

My two cents - I'm choosing the DS after tons of research, so am going to Dr. Houston in Nashville, TN. However, if I was going to have the RnY, I would go to Dr. Baker in a heartbeat. There's 2 docs in Nashville and one in Denton, TX who do the DS. I'm in NE AR, so NashVegas is closer for me.

Good luck!!

These sites have loads of good info on the DS both pro and con: http://www.dsfacts.com/  and  http://www.duodenalswitch.com/

Well, that's just sad.  If you ever get to the Target or Kohl's in Benton, let me know. I'm only 5 miles away

Take care!

Susan

Its Sunday at 2:15 and NO he is not here yet.  Should be home around 4, and it cannot get here fast enough.
I have never in all of our years together had to be home w/o him more than one night.  It has been nice but GOD I miss him soooo bad.  We are pitiful, he called earlier and I cried when I hung up.
He was teasing me saying he was tired, thought they would pull over, get a room and come home tomorrow!!! I was like OH I DONT THINK SO!!! Hes ready to be home, b/c he has started calling every 45 minutes or so.

Makes me know how much I love him, as if I needed to know that!!

See you all later,
Rhonda

Hey y'all, it's been a while. I've been 'on hold' waiting for January to roll around so I could get on my husband's insurance - the one that actually covers WLS, since mine pays a whopping $4k. I have appointments with the surgeon, Dr. Houston, the psychologist and the nutritionist 1/29 in Nashville which will meet all the insurance requirements. YAY! I'm very excited and somewhat...ok, a lot impatient.

Ok so I took your advice and cooked everyone else the normal scrambled eggs, sausage and some hashbrowns and fixed me some cottage cheese pancakes with sugar free syrup and did fine, no dumping, sprinkled a little applie pie spice and cinnamon on them too.

Now I am doing some prunes, back on the vitamins is well back to the beginning!

Cleaned our bedroom this morning and rearranged it and not feeling so much like a couch potato after the 3-4 weeks of illness and no energy, this afternoon I am tackling the flower beds out front and getting them pruned for the spring!  Its pretty out so that will be nice.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend and remembering all the suffering and pain in Haiti in their prayers today.

Love ya'll!
