Yes, the salad was very good. It really comes with goat cheese, but I didn't want to go there, besides, any chance to have either bleu or Gorganzola makes me happy. Have you ever been to Ya Ya's?? It's very good, and what a nice atmosphere!
Oh yeah, that's my knitting....sophisticated
Susan
That salad sounds really intriguing, was it good?
I'm jealous that you can knit. I've tried, and I'm just not coordinated enough to handle two needles. I can crochet the heck out of anything, though! It's pretty, but knitting has a certain sophistication that you can't get with crochet, IMO.
Glad you had a decent time at the Aflac thing. I felt your pain. Gee....a whole room of insurance sales people, what fun. So sorry about your grandmother, will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
Fosamax Monday once again, so after taking the pill, waiting 30 minutes before I could have my latte, I decided to go ahead and eat first. BIG change for me. Maybe if I could get myself to eat first thing, then wait my 30 before drinking my latte or coffee, it would change things up for this poor confused bod of mine.
Going out to lunch today with a friend, then to a knitting class at the local library. I've knitted since I was 8, but haven't picked up a project for a couple of years now. Maybe this will get me motivated again. If I'm knitting I can't very well eat, now can I??
2/3 cheese and shaved turkey quesidilla on high fiber tortilla

Thought I'd get this party started, I'm having a hard time focusing on work today.
My weekend was alternately fun and sucky. Hubby and I went to the Aflac thing on Saturday and that was okay. It was a little noisy, but it was nice to be around other grownups for a while. Sunday, my grandmother was admitted to the hospital - she's got congestive heart failure. She's almost 93 and has had many health issues this last year, though, so this isn't unexpected. We know it's a matter of time, we're just praying it's as peaceful as possible.
Anyway, food:
Breakfast -
egg / English muffin / bacon / cheese
coffee
Lunch -
chicken & spinach
Snack -
string cheese
apple
Whoops, the apple and string cheese didn't make the cut -- some chocolate and potato chips took their place (how did that happen?!). I'm sure the culprit is stress.
Had a latte at the hospital - Grandma's coloring is better, but her heart is still in atrial fibrillation. The docs are not optimistic she'll come out of that, but we're still looking at anywhere from days to weeks. I really hope it's fast, for her sake.
Dinner -
fake'un cheeseburger (morningstar griller with turkey bacon and cheese on sandwich flatbread)
Y'all stay warm, it's supposed to get chilly again out there!
(I squeezed in a run after I got home, went about 1.75 miles before I got frozen. Here's hoping the exercise helps my stress & panic attacks.)
I want the DS because I think it's the best for me, which is how I think most of us getting WLS make our choices. All the hoorah on the main board wears me out, so I don't go there much either. I have found several folks on the DS board who are happy to answer questions without the whole bully you into getting a DS routine. PMs are usually good too - no chance of others putting their two cents in. ;-)
Best wishes on your WLS journey!
If you have a GP, you could ask if they have a doctor or two they would recommend. They may not be able to tell you specifically why they would go for one over the other, but they can steer you in the safest direction.
For what it's worth, Dr. Baker (one of the three favorites around here) is very upfront about his statistics and mortality rates. If you haven't already, go to his seminar and see what he has to say. :)
Good luck!
Wow! I'm glad you weighed in on this. The supplements weren't terribly expensive, so I won't feel too bad if I end up chucking them. I read something the other day about those two vits being the fat-soluble ones and how we should be careful about maintaining levels (maybe from vitalady?) so I sprang for them.
I'll definitely have to check the amounts of A and E in my current multi. I was more concerned about toxicity, but you addressed deficiency, too, so you rock - which you already knew. :)
Hugs!
Susan
