Topic: Support Group Meeting Next Thursday 2/11
Hi all.....

Just wanted to let you know early that our monthly meeting is next Thursday at Baptist Hosp. 6:00-7:30. Post ops in the Dr's dining room, far right corner of the cafeteria. Pre-ops, I'll let you know. Probably in one of the meeting rooms in Gilbreath.

Hope we have a good turn out, I'm planning something fun!

Thanks Sus,
Sorry about Gary's mom, hope he gets to spend some quality time with her.

When I hurt or grieve or fall into a funk, eating is the LAST thing I wanna do. Not sure which is worse, eating at a time like this or NOT eating!!
I had no lunch, and so far no dinner.  We have to deliver a dog later, so maybe we will dine out.  Its just hard to think of food when my heart is breaking!!!

So sorry about your friend's mother. Gary's mom is declining quickly, too. He's going out next week to see her.

It's hard to not go to food for comfort. Old habits are so hard to break.

I have three dogs and one cat.  I have my old and loyal boston terriers:  Tuff and Senora.  Tuff is 9 and Senora is 8.  I have a 2 yr old Shar-Pei named Sugar.  Tom is my pretty 3 colored male cat.  You know they say that the dog resembles the owner.  My oldest dog, Tuff, is really obese.  However, since the surgery, he has also lost 5 pounds.  He went from 48 lbs. to 43 lbs.  I had my surgery on December 28th.  I guess the exercise is rubbing off.

Well, food wise yesterday was better, but it was not a good day.  One of my dearest friends mother passed away Monday evening, and all I could do yesterday was think of her, and smile and cry, and repeat!!  The son was one of the first people I met after my late husband died, and we became fast friends, then I was his daughters youth director for a year, so its like family!!

Anyway, God is good, and all I can say is He got another perfect one!!

Food was
Coffee
1/2 biscuit, ham, egg

Lunch-Fruit and nuts, wasnt really in an eating mood after getting the news

Dinner-Five layer burrito from Taco Bell, not quite all of it!!

Not a good day, but eating and sadness dont mix well here. Funeral today at 2, but I'll try to be better.
Love to all, go love your loved ones and hold them an extra minute or 10.

Yesterday was nuts with my eating. I wasn't really busy at work, but when I was busy, my schedule worked against my eating plan. I didn't get dinner before my 5:30 client came in, and by the time I got home, just before 8:00, it was too late to eat what I had planned. Oh well, today is another day.

I bought a nifty milk frother. It's supposed to be used to make milk foam for the top of lattes and such. Well, all it is is a mini emersion blender and it works miracles!  I started making protein coffee....1 tbs protein powder, 1 tsp instant coffe, a little warm water. I whip it up with my frother while the water comes to a boil, then add it in. Welllllll, it's nice and thick and is more like a latte than a cup of coffee!!!  I might just eliminate my lattes and see if it helps me get a few lbs off.

Here is is so far:

latte

protein coffee

1 mini bagel and a crustless quiche ---I warmed a little pasta sauce and poured it over it yesterday and it was really good. I still think I'll do some playing around with this recipe, though.

protein bar

l--left over lamb curry from yesterday

s--applesauce and cottage cheese

d---steak, 1/2 baked potato, some sort of veggie

s-- don't know, what ever I need to fill out my day.

Hope you all have a successful day rowing down the river.

Really, other than the chocolate pie, it seems like it was a good day!

I'm struggling with hunger right now, too.  Pie *sounds* good, but if I were to start eating it, I would rapidly feel like crap.  Can you try fryut or some sugar-free pudding?  One of my FAVORITE "good" desserts pre-op was sliced strawberries dipped in SF Chocolate Jello or sliced apples in SF caramel pudding.  They'd probably fill you up more than pie... I know sometimes you've just gotta have that chocolate taste.

Hang in there!  I'm really trying to get more water - I think some of my hunger issues are linked to a shortage there lately.  Fruits and veggies are full of water, fortunately. ;-P

Hey Susan,
Im here and eating, sometimes too much, but its healthy too much.  Again, all I wanna do is eat, not sure what is up w/that.

Yesterday was pretty ok, had a minor bobble, but not today.
Yesterday was:
Wake up-Coffee, as if you didnt know that one, lol

Breakfast-1/2 reduced fat grands biscuit, slice of ham and 1 egg fried in non stick skillet.

Lunch-mmmm, think I missed that one!!  Was a bad girl and ate a slice of hersheys choc creme pie!!  Boy did I feel bad about it and after it, BAD RHONDA!! Power of temptation is still there.

No afternoon snack, since I was soooo bad earlier.

Dinner-Pork fajitas and 3 sweet potato fries.

Looking back, it was a horrible day!!! Arrrghhh!!

Today will be much better, so that you dont throw me overboard!!

Wake up-Coffee

Breakfast-1/2 reduced fat grands biscuit, ham, egg  (see a pattern here?)

Lunch-Im thinking turkey breast sliced w/some cheddar cheese, no bread

Dinner-Chicken cooked some way, have some thawed I need to cook or lose.

Snacks will be nuts and fruit, I have to be good today, yesterday was BAD!!

Hope everyone has a great day, Im off to take care of f-i-l's stock and get my hair trimmed!!  See you all tonight
