I'm having the gastric sleave in December. With the Bypass I expected to drop 10 to 20 pounds a month but I'm not sure how much I'll drop monthly with the sleave. Does anyone know?
Also does anyone know of any organized lending closet offering big size clothing for men and women to help cut the costs for people dropping weight? Have the weight loss surgeons organized something already or at least gotten a thrift store to organize the clothing for BBWs and BHM.
I gave away my 3XL and 4XL men's clothing YEARS ago on FreeCycle and to Jacksonville's Care Channel thrift store.
I'm looking for some place from Cabot down to LR. If we don't have such a closet, do we have any church leaders on here that would like to organize a lending service for Plus size and King size clothing? While xL to 3xL would be nice too, I'm really interested in sizes 4XL and larger because you can only get those clothes at 1 store in LR or online like the KingSizeDirect website.
Hi there. Right now it looks like I will be having RNY too. Thankfully I don't have to pay out of pocket for this surgery. I am excited to get started and get to losing. I know about 9 people that have had the surgery and 3 that did it with other doctors. The rest have all had Dr. Roller. None have said they wished they hadn't had it done. Good luck with your surgery.

Hello Jennifer! I live in Fayetteville and am considering RNY with Dr. Roller. I went into it thinking I would have VSG, but they say I'm a good candidate for RNY, even though I only have 70 pounds to lose. I feel the same way you do and am also looking for input on Dr. Roller.
I hope all goes well with your surgery and that you will keep us posted on your progress!
I'm having my endoscopy with Dr. Roller on Friday. Are you doing VSG or RNY or Lap Band? I'm in Fayetteville and would love to hear others' input on Dr. Roller.
Good luck and please keep posting on your progress!
Hi all,
I have done my pre-op evaluations and am waiting for results from Dr. Roller. I went in thinking that I would do VSG, but they have indicated that RNY would be a good option as well. I need to lose about 75 pounds and am overall healthy, except for high cholesterol. I would LOVE to have comments about either surgery (pros and cons), as I don't know a single person who has had either. I'm a self-pay (ugh) and want to make sure I'm making a wise choice since it's SO expensive. Would also like any insight on Dr. Josh Roller. He seems fabulous so far, but all input is appreciated.
Well, had my endoscopy done today. That was a piece of cake. I am not sure what I was expecting but that wasn't it. Everything looks pretty and smooth. I think that is my last test I will have to do before having the surgery. My next appointment to see Dr. Roller and the nutritionists is next Wednesday. That month went extremely fast. YAY!
How is everyone else doing?

Hi! It may sound crazy but I got lots of real life info from watching videos on youtube. Lots of people video log their weight loss journey through what ever surgery they choose. There are manufacturers videos of different bands, as well as all other surgeries both real time and animated. They show before and after photos, excess skin after loosing weight and lots of times the journey of plastic surgery to havwe skin removed. I like that you are seeing real people talk about their real experience.... the highs and lows!
As for a surgeon I think it is a personal choice. I will tell you you can find some dr's seminars on youtube and get a feel for their personalities.
Not sure just yet. Since I am just getting started I will know more once I get in there to discuss it all. Originally looked at the Lapband, but then decided if I was going to do it, I needed to go full out, permanent and no turning back. So, now I am leaning toward the RNY. Dr. Roller has a superb record. I have several friends that have gone through the surgery with him.
