Topic: RE: Looking for a Doc for follow-up appointments
I called Dr. Baker's office and they directed me to thier online regisration. Once I filled out the info, I'll need to contact my Doc in IL to fax over my medical files. They were very helpful and spoke very highly of him.
Thanks for your help!!!

Dr Gibbs has started doing VSG's. I think he might be the only one in Central AR.
You only have to see your PCP to get labs done. If you have a list of what your doc wants, make an appt with your primary. They should take care of it.
Good luck!

Topic: Looking for a Doc for follow-up appointments
I moved to Maumelle, AR on 3/17/10 and I haven't found a Doc. I had my VSG surgery on 3/9/10. I'm not familiar with things yet but I need to get more labs done soon. I moved here from Illinios and have already traveled back once for my 2wks post-op appointment. They made me another appointment to come back 5/12/10. In the meanwhile, they want me to to get certain labs done. They told me that when I return (for my 2month follow-up) they'll recommend a Doc here in AR. If someone knows of a good Doc here please let me know!!!!!

Thanks and yes I did a 4 week preop diet of 2 protein shakes and 1 meal. Then after I did 2 weeks of liquids. I drank Isopure and water. On week 3 moved up to mushies and 6 weeks was normal foods.

Wonderful! I'm having my sleeve next week. Do you mind sharing your first few weeks post op diet? I'm seeing all kinds of conflicting info on the VSG forum. I'm going to be the first one here, so they gave me the lap band protocol but I want to make sure I do the right thing. Did you have to do a preop liquid diet?

I'm having the sleeve by Dr. Gibbs in LIttle Rock next week. Health Advantage is paying 50%. Maybe some of the insurance companies are coming around! Good luck to you.
