Topic: Checking in to say hello... and update...
I know I haven't posted in a long time. I wanted to say a hello to everyone. Things seem to be looking up lately, after a long hard process I recently changed doctors to one closer to home which I think will work better for me and my family. I am now seeing Dr. Roller whose office is working on getting their COE. I think this change will help me in a lot of ways.

Topic: Dr. Wellborn ve Dr. Baker
I currently have a lap band surgery day coming up with Dr. Wellborn.  Although my impression of him has been good personally in my interactions with him up to this point, I have been hearing several other negitive comments regarding his surgical outcomes such as high incidents of infections and other complications.  Some of these comments have come from the nurses that have worked with his patients post-op and give me very strong negitive reactions towards him doing my surgery.  Several of them have recommended not to go to Dr. Wellborn and to check out Dr. Baker specifically.

Although I am not torn about the actual Lap Band procedure, I am conflicted on what I should do.  Seeing that on this website under the MD reviews, both have positive reviews, more comments for Dr. Baker.  There also seem to be quite a few Dr. Baker patients but not too many Dr. Wellborn patients.

I am very anxious to have the surgery done as we're all set up and ready to go but just want to be sure I'm picking the right surgeon.

Anybody have anything that can help me out??

Thanks

Topic: PCP
I am new, and hoping to have lap-band surgery.

I live in NW Arkansas near Fort Smith and due to the insurer hoops I have to meet with my PCP to get the ball rolling.  Although I moved to the area 3-4 years ago, I haven't really established myself with a doctor here.  Anyone in this area that can recommend a PCP that is supportive of Lap-Band?

Any help is appreciated.

Baptist Hospital.
The pre op group meets from 6:00- 7:30 in Gilbreath room #22, basement level, behind the cafeteria. Since you haven't had surgery yet, I suggest you go to the pre op meeting where you will learn what will happen during your hospital stay.

The post op group will join that group around 7:00

I'm a Gibbs pt, too, so come introduce yourself!
