Topic: hello
well hello my fellow wls friends. I am still here but not on this site at all. why? because I have regained almost all of my weight back and do not want to be a debbie downer for all of you. I am on facebook   TAMMY BUCKWALTER and here is my email [email protected]  . So if anyone would like to connect with me I can be found there.
So yes I went and had surgery 9 yrs ago weighing 233, lost 100 pounds, now back to 193. I have no excuses except for my lack of desire to exercise and eat....and eat right.. I lost my job a yr ago, was in a wreck in July. Just a lot of crappy things going on in my life right now. Its my own fault. I failed the wonderful tool I was given.
I have been certified by two schools for fitness and nutrition/personal trainer, but wont persue it until I get myself right. I would like to be certified by one more school but its too expensive for my income right now.

So how has everyone been?? feel free to drop me an email or post on facebook.

Have a good day
Hugs and kisses,
TAMMY!!

good luck finding a p/t with weight loss surgery client experience. That is why I took courses to be a p/t and my goal was to help other wls patients. I have regained most of my weight back and have not persued my p/t as a career. I must get myself on track before I try to work with anyone else. I had a trainer for a while but he was cluelss as to how we eat, he was always trying to create meal plans but I could not eat the food as the amounts were way too much, when you reduce the portions it screwed up the nutritional count.
I would suggest using a trainer for working out only. Do not let them try to tell you how to eat and so on. Follow your Dr's plans. Yes if you get into weight training you will need to consume protien (shakes) with in 30-45 mins of weight training session. That is for proper muscle repair and recovery.  Good luck in your search for the right trainer. Trainers are great for discipline and showing you the right techniques but they are really expensive.

I am still here. I do not post on here because I have regained my weight back and do not want to be a downer to the newbies. I am on facebook tho.
I am glad your doing better. I have thought of you daily and wished I were closer to help you through the dark days you have been through.
I may not be the perfect role model at this point of my journey but I am still here to listen if you want to get in touch with me.     marionmom2011@hotmail.com

Oops... I was thinking about another person that i've talked to from the VSG message board, her name and yours are similar.  But still... I do look forward to meeting you.  We both used Dr. Baker and our surgery dates are very close!

Topic: RE: Checking in...
Thanks for the suggestion on the website, I'm going to defiantely check that out!!  Yep, pretty much stuck with cottage cheese, some canned 100% juice fruit, and a sf carnation instant breakfast with extra protien scoop shake a day.

Still no hunger but psychologically starting to miss food.  I know that I only have one more week of the soft diet phase before I can start adding some more variety to my diet though.

Also social eating challenges have been in my face lately over the weekend.  I traveled to Mississippi for my husband's NCO graduation and had to stare at not only the entire table of lovely cheesecake just calling out but then of coarse a delicious plate of food that I couldn't touch a single thing on the plate at this stage.  Then the servers wouldn't take my plate very easily because they kept thinking I wasn't done yet.  Now my husband is back from being gone when I first started the preshake regiman and very jealous of him eating Taquitos, pizzas, and all sorts of good looking stuff.

I'm very happy with my progress so far as I'm 32 pounds down already and noticing a big difference in the way my clothes are fitting but needless to say, I'm excited for the support group coming up this week.  I really need to be around people that understand what this is like.  I've lost count how many times I have had to say "nope, can't have that yet" to others just trying to be helpful and feeling bad I can't have anything.

Hope to see you Thursday!!!

I will be there and I'm excited!!!!  Although I'm doing well post-op, almost a month now,  it'll be so nice to be in the company of those that truly understand what it is like at this stage!  I know I need to come!!  Hope to see you all there!!
