Geting ready for work   It's raining right now.  I'm glad to see it.  All the rain last month messed up my shrubs and a tree though.  I hope I don't lose them.  One of my rain trees lost all it's leaves.  Go figure, I guess the name is misleading...  My roses got aphids and one of my other shrubs lost most of it's leaves too.  I'm a little sore from all the demo this weekend.  I am down a pound though, lol.  After work today, we are going to pick out a new bed and some furniture for our son's new digs.  I hope he will be pleasently surprised when I pick him up this weekend.  Ya'll have a good day.

We had a productive weekend.  Our 16 y/o is visiting in Houston with his aunts so we tore out the wall and closet between the two front rooms to make one big room for him.  Sunday I went and bought paint and primer and on the way back got the dreaded call and had to go in to work since one of the nurses had to leave.  Otherwise, we got a lot done with the room.  Put on the primer yesterday and about made myself sick.  Got some oil based primer since it was on sale and the smell was awful.  Then I had to practically take a bath in mineral spirits to get all the paint off, yuck.  Anyway, the room will look really good when we get done.  I picked up a futon for his new lounge area on Sunday at Big Lots.  They were having a customer appreciation sale and got 20% off on it.

Sherlock AKA Old Dog, had me up at 3:42 a.m.  I have to wor****il 7:00 tonight, so it's gonna be one long a**ed day.  Gary's been up with him 3 out of 4 mornings, so I guess it's the least I can do. Besides, after Thursday I'll have a good excuse for staying in bed  LOL

So, nothing new going on here, just waiting, cleaning, waiting, cooking, all for Thursday. My elbow is much better, so I'm hoping to be around a bit more now.

Okay.....what are you all doing????

I say that weekend in the fall should be full of golf. Gotta make up for the "lost" weekend in July

Thanks.... I am so happy to have the surgery behind me and a whole new start in front of me. And for once I'm happy to be on the looser's bench!

I've come to believe with very little contact that Susan knows her WLS stuff.

I probably "look" like I'm more sore than I am. Actually I don't really feel that sore, just babying myself and taking it real easy. But I feel fine, like I could do just about anything that I'd care to do. But I tend to believe in "better safe, than sorry".

Thanks again!   :-)

Wow, updates galore!   gotta love it.   Well, I didn't run eight miles, as can be proven by the fact that I am still alive and kicking today.

As weekends go, this one was pretty good, at least it was productive.   I promised to take Dian down to the Rivermarket on Saturday, but she decided she would rather sleep in.  So, as I contemplated what I wanted to do on a beautiful, cool Saturday morning, I became a moron (even more than usual) and decided to get busy with staining our pergola and deck.

I moved everything into the yard and then went and borrowed a power washer to clean the surfaces before staining.   Then I started with the pergola.  Man o man,  that thing took forever and had lots of nooks and crannies to work the stain into.  Up the ladder, down the ladder, up the ladder, down the ladder ..... are you sensing that this turned into real work?

At any rate, I did finish the pergola on Saturday and then stained the deck on Sunday.   So, although the golf course missed me terribly (or at least I missed it ), the fall project of restaining the deck got done on a cooler than normal weekend in July and it won't be calling me to action in the fall.  I'll hopefully use the beautiful fall weather to do something much more fun.

Good to hear from so many OH friends today.

Weekend was the bomb diggety!!!  Saturday was a long but wonderful day.  Went to Farmerville, LA for the Tennessee Walking Horse show.  Took our show mare and our show mule.  I didnt ride, but we had a great friend ride for us (asthma was cutting up, so I was the proud mommy and took pics).

We entered Cashet and Crystal in the Open Racking class, where she competed with horses that I couldnt pay for in a million years!!!  But the best part of the night was when she BEAT all of those horses.  Mama's girl took first place, and mama cried like a big ole baby!!!  Then our mule went in the mule class and took third place.  I was proud of her, b/c she was riding against the World Grand Champion Gaited Mule.  She did great, considering they came from the Championship with theirs and "Fancy" came out of the thicket!!!!
LOVE MY KIDS!!!  We got home at 1:30 Sunday morning, couldnt go to sleep until after 3 am, so the devil won and I didnt make church.  Went to the barn (horse trainer and shoers) Mike cooked a wonderful lunch and we hung out over there and enjoyed the beautiful day!!
Today was back to the old grind, but I only have a few more weeks and I'll be looking for somewhere else to grind!!

Hope everyone has a blessed week, the rain has been wonderful and it is supposed to rain again tomorrow, Lord knows we need it.

Off to do my resume, ( I hate doing those) and fill out 3 job applications!!

Yep.  I check it out every now and then.  Something caught my eye over there so I posted.  This board is my "family" though.

Congratulations!    Glad you are having a good go of it.  I was amazed at how little pain I had too.  Listen to Susan and you'll be feeling really good in no time.
