So....that cookie didn't taste nearly as good as you thought it would, did it? Certainly not worth feeling like crap! Thank you RNY!!!
Yes, if I had a lawn chair that would be an excellent idea. Never had one, considering I always worried that it would break the moment I sat in it...LOL. Maybe next summer?

Do you really live on a fault line?? Not many Arkansans know what those are. Have you ever had an earthquake? You know, I lived in the earthquake capitol of the world for 50 years and have been through many, many, but never any distructive ones. Thankfully!
We had all those machines over the years, too. I found them most helpful for clothes that needed ironing. Pretty expensive hamper, huh? Gary bought a treadmill at an estate sale for $25. It works great....one mile at a time. More than that and you can smell the motor starting to heat up. And, it's not just with him on it, it happens when I'm on it too. So, I'm going to tell him to sell it at a yard sale. Let someone else put the new motor in it.
You can totally give up the soda. I know you can!!! Please give it a good try???
We love you, and we're here for you. Get yourself some temazapam from the doctor. It's generic and cheap, makes you sleep like a rock. You can't face anything without proper rest.

You are one lucky guy, and your family sounds like they are wonderful people. Thanks for reminding us to appreciate what we've been given, whether tangible or not!

Topic: RE: Results with the Lap-Band...
Hi there, and welcome to the AR board!
Your profile is "private" so I wasn't able to see your BMI or weight, so I guess to give you a good opinion I should ask that.
I tell people this when they ask me what surgery to choose. This is ONLY my opinion, gained from my OH training and personal experiences with RNY and Lap Band patients. It is NOT intended to be medical advice.
With that out of the way, here goes!
To me, it comes down to how much you have to lose and what your particular eating habits are that have brought you to make this journey. If you are more than say, 150 lbs overweight, and you'd rather have a 1/2 gallon of ice cream for dinner than a 16 oz steak, then rny could be a better choice for you than lap band. With the faster weight loss (generally speaking, of course) and the beneficial side effect of dumping syndrome, which makes sugary and high fat foods very difficult to tolerate, rny might be for you.
If your biggest problem with food comes from portion control....you eat VERY large quantities of food, and can leave sugar alone, then lap band might be an option. Also, you must realize that banders generally lose slower, they require fills on the band (which aren't always covered by insurance), and you MUST be as diligent about your eating regimen as you would be on a regular diet. YOU have to restrict yourself from empty calories from sugary foods and drinks yourself, and you have to have a lot of self control. Personally, if I had the self control required for lap band, I wouldn't need to have WLS!! Also, if you move from the area, you might find it very hard to get another doctor to do your fills for you. They don't like to treat another doctor's lap band patients. So, if there is any chance you might be moving from AR, you need to consider that, too.
RNY is not without it's problems. The malabsorption issues you will face not only help you lose weight, but cause you to need life long vitamin and protein supplementation. It's just the way it is. You have to be committed to taking your supplements daily, for the rest of your life.
If you haven't gone to Dr Baker's seminar yet, he will give you all of the pros and cons of the different surgeries and during your consult with him, he will help you to decide with path is the best for YOU.
Hope this has helped in some way.

Well, she certainly is not my first, we have a small one as well. Got him last year when he was 3 weeks old. Hand fed him and have made him ROTTEN!!! His favorite word is ****!!!! Says it frequently, and he sneezes all the time. Soo cute. Just wish he had another favorite word, but we will deal. We have had big birds, little birds, and in between birds.
Our goal is to one day own a BIG bird, blue and gold macaw or some kind of full sized one. We had an african grey, a quaker, 2 ****atiels, a mini macaw, parakeets. So can ya tell we love these babies???
I hope to post some pics soon, she is sooo sweet, snuggled under my chin as I type.
Everyone should love at least one bird in their life, they are sooo awesome!!!!

Well, Saturday I am going to help work on the horse trailer we have sold. Its in the paint shop (personal friend) and we are going to help scrape it and then possibly paint it. So I will be moving alot, and sweating as well Im sure.
Sunday is church and then I will be at the barn, gonna try to ride, havent ridden any this week. Got to thinking, I ride so regular (NOT)!!! Havent ridden but one time since the last horse show, and state is in 2 weeks!!! EEEKK!! Oh well, we shall survive it, and it will be over and I'll then be sad Im sure.
So Steve, golf at 8:04?? You make me laugh w/your precise times!!!
Gotta run, the big bird is perching over my head talking, guess she needs some attention!!
Hugs,
Rhonda D., the critter lady

I am doing Homework !!! Yuck!!! LOL...I am trying to convince my dad to take the family to the lake and take the boat out and go fishing, swimming, tubing, does that count as exercise??? I think so =)
OH, AND I am going to Jog/Run around the campground, if Dad takes us.... =)
I have had a lot of temtations around school, vending machines, donuts, free food, but it all looks yucky to me now... Before, I would of been right there... I LOVE My NEW life....
