I'll check out the back on track group. I was put on another 15 days of antibiotics yesterday. It seems the salmonella isn't quite done with my old body yet. I have never tried using the ketone sticks but I guess they are the indicator as to whether or not your body is in the zone. I might give them a try too.

Thanks Susan. I understand about the net carbs. I also agree about the white carbs. Those are the ones that get me going. We're on day 3 of the not smoking battle. It doesn't seem so hard this time. We're not even taking anything, just going cold turkey. I like to just put it out of my mind and keep busy but Val wants to talk about it all the time, lol. I guess we both have to deal with it in our own way. As long as we both quit I think it will be easier to stay that way.

I'm on facebook, all the time, to much of the time, LOL. There isn't enough time in the day to do all the cute little apps and such.

Topic: RE: Starting over!!!
Hi, it is good that you have called and talked to Addie! Nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. I personally have not gained or lost any weight in almost a year. I know that I am sad I haven't lost anymore, but also happy that I haven't gained any either. I go up and down 2 pounds or so now and then. I eat fairly healthy meals, but I am a grazer. I take a nibble here or a nibble there. I don't mean I eat a big snack or anything, just that I may grab a bite of a multi-grain rice cake then put it back in the bag for another time. Or pop a couple wheat thins or a bite of ice cream. I rarely eat breakfast, but I do eat a good full lunch. I have been making sure of that because for a good part of the year all I was eating was a good dinner as my only actual meal, and sometimes I would eat lunch, but not to often. I think it is just as bad to not eat as it is to eat to much.
So now I eat a good bowl of soup for lunch, one that doesn't have noodles or rice in it. And is healthy. At dinner I am making sure I eat all my protein first before I start on anything else. I have started waiting a full hour before I drink again, whereas before I would drink within 15 minutes.
It was so easy to get off track that I never noticed it until I was off for a while. I still take my vitamins and meds everyday. I walk everyday.
I have been ashamed and felt like a failure sometimes. I know I am not, I just feel like it sometimes though. I am glad that this subject has come up. It lets me know that I am not the only one who has gotten off track now and then.
And Susan is right, this is a place for support, I need to come here when I am feeling down and talk to everyone. Not hide because I am not eating properly or because I got lazy on my vitamins again. I should come and chat about here, so others can know that it can happen.
To Janoice, who are you going to be seeing for pain management? I see Dr. Umerah here in Searcy, he is so good and understanding. He isn't loose with his pen and RX pad by any means, but he is very comforting to talk to, he understand about pain management, it is what he solely specializes in. I have spoken to some patients who have come from all over the state to see him. He also has a office at Baptist in LR. I take methadone and hydrocodone every day, 6 pills in total. I thank god I have not become addicted, but I know many who have, and some who are very badly addicted to the point of inflicting severe pain to themselves in order to get pain medication. Addiction is nothing to be ashamed of, pain meds are very strong and addicting drugs.

Topic: RE: THE WALK
I don't know what I will be wearing. Depends on the weather. If it is nice out, I will most likely be in a pair of light blue jean shorts and a sleeveless shirt. I will be with my sister and her 2 y/o daughter. So it will be easy to find me, 2 girls and a toddler, LOL.
I am gonna be sure to come early so this year I can get a Walk from Obesity shirt. Last year they ran out but I did get a comfy blue Baptist shirt. It is now my night shirt, LOL.
I am so excited, my sister and I have been looking forward to this all year long!! Do we register at the walk? I haven't registered yet and I won't be able to pay the entry fee til Saturday, which I am thinking that last year my sister and I had our registration paper filled out ahead of time and paid at the walk. $25 each right? I need to go to the walk website and double check and print out a registration sheet.
There is also a Susan G Komen walk coming up I think, and my sister and I have talked about doing that to. We like doing walks, not marathons though, but anyone can do a walk. Even if you can't walk, someone can push ya!
