Oh yeah their louds.  Casinos are definitely not for those who get panicky/anxious too easily.  And the super mega buffet is not the place to go if you have had any weightloss surgery ever.  Way to much temptation.  I don't think I ever saw so much food in my entire life, if you wanted it, this place had it.  Mexican, southern, new orleans, italian, french, south american, indian, greek, chinese, japanese, dirty knees look at these (okay just kidding, LOL on the rhyme).  And that is just the tip of the ice berg.  I went there last year when my Dad had come out to visit.  I got a little this, little that.  I got what I thought was some kind of, oh I don't remember what I thought it was, it was a thick cream/paste, anyhow I took a BIG bite of it, and OMG it was HORSERADISH SAUCE!!  I started coughing and couldn't breathe.  I grabbed a roll and broke it open and started rubbing it on my tongue and then sucked a little piece.

I wanted to atleast have a little nibble of everything, but didn't happen.  I did get to enjoy a few good things I normally don't get to eat, such as lobster.

Topic: RE: Saturday check in----how you doin'?
I posted my weekend under the BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, NOT post.  Long story short...  Spent weekend camping on the Buffalo River at Lost Valley.  Did a 3.4 mile roundtrip hike to Eden Caves, Eden Falls.  Did some fishing, hiking, exploring and just enjoying time with my Dad, sister, brother-in-law, 2 year old niece and my loving roomie/partner.  It was COOOOLD!!  I did not think it would be so cold.  I expected chilly nights, but warm days.  It was frigid nights and icy days, LOL.  At Lost Valley there are lots of trees and we were camped on an incline, which was okay, there was some flat area, and the incline wasn't to stee*****thing, except I kept sliding down on the air mattress at night.

I got to watch lots of Elk, some bulls fight, and one mating, hehe.  I did fishing at Kyles Landing, Steel Creek and Ponca.  It was SOO much fun.

Topic: RE: New here.. looking for a doctor in LR area...
Forgot to add another link, this is the page of surgeons in Arkansas who have officially registered with OH's website but they are great surgeons and many of them on this list, you can click on the link under the column labeled "SURGICAL CENTER" to the OH forum for that surgeon.  Not all have one listed.

www.obesityhelp.com/forums/AR/a,doclisting/type,46/show,unre gistered/

But for many they have listed the surgery types and number of testimonials by patients who are here on OH.   You can call around the different surgeons and just ask if they accept your insurance.  Also find out what your insurance requires for the lapband, so you can start meeting their criteria.  For instance, does your insurance require you have Dr supervised diet attempts for a certain amount of time, or attempts?  I know many do for gastric bypass, not sure on lapband, but if it is, then while you are hunting around for a surgeon and getting ready you can be doing the supervised diet attempts while you wait.

Hi, I had gastric bypass with Dr Baker.  I see he is not listed on your post though.  He does do lapband.
We have several members here who have had lapband, and several who have had weightloss surgery with the Drs you have listed.  Just hang around a little more and read some of our profiles, many of us have written in one way or another about our surgeons and surgery.  Also there is a page here on OH that has where people wrote about their surgeons.  Let me see if I can find it for you.  And when all else fails, GOOGLE!!  I use it all the time.

Okay here is the OH page for Dr Fuller (click on JD Fullers OH Forum for reviews)
www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+profile+ JD+Fuller+tcs.html

Here is Dr. Luttrells page (again don't forget the forum link on the right)
www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+profile+ Rex+Luttrell+lb.html

And finally Dr. Gibbs page (again don't forget to click on Mark Gibbs OH Forum also)
www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/bariatric+surgeon+profile+ Mark+R+Gibbs+hj.html

Those three pages should help you gather some information.  Each page has reviews from patients, a forum and other information such as how many surgeries performed, how many years and more.  So that should help you get started.  Again, don't forget google, you can find a lot there to.  Not all patients are on OH, so search around until you are comfortable with a surgeon.

Topic: RE: A beautiful day in the neighborhood----NOT
My dad went back to San Diego today.  He had a 2hr delay in Little Rock airport, and last I heard he was in Atlanta for a layover.  So he should be home tonight.  I miss him already.  I thought he would be here 2 days longer than he was.
We spent Fri, Sat & Sun camping on the Buffalo River at Lost Valley.  We did a 3.4 mile (round trip) hike to Eden Falls and Eden Falls Cave.  I got to mini explore a few smaller caves but was to scared by the time we FINALLY got to the main cave, and little things just made me not go in.  Especially the small 2 foot hop from one rock to another with what my Dad claimed was a measly 7ft drop.  I felt like a baby cause I wouldn't do it.  My sister, her husband and 2 year old did it, my roomie/partner (who weighs 350) did it, and my Dad.  But not me.

I did enjoy the time I spent on the side before the cave.  I carved my initials in some limestone.  I collected some cool rocks and took some great pics.

Saturday we traveled to Boxley and took some great Elk pics.  Sunday after we packed up we went to Kyles Landing, Ponca Access and Steel Creek for fishing and picture taking, and also got to watch some Elk bulls duke it out over females.  Which was fantastic!  Also saw one bull mate a female.

On the way back we went to Jasper to a restaurant and got to enjoy some Elk chili!!  I ate almost all of it, I let everyone grab a bite or two first, then I finished what was left.  It also had short brown rice which settled nicely with my pouch!!

Yesterday I spent with my Dad at my sisters and we played with my sisters new chickens, Caitlin (my 2 year old niece) helped collect 2 brown eggs.  Then we did some fishing, and my luck was great!  I NEVER catch ANYTHING in the last 9 years or so Ive been fishing, but I caught 4 good sized bass (averaged 1.5 lbs each).  My Dad caught 1.  My sister caught a brim and Caitlin had her Dora fishing pole and just played with hitting the water with it.

We brought the fish home and my dad did the gutting and beheading, and my sister and I did the scaling.  I fried it up with pure olive oil and a homemade dry cornmeal batter.  We made fresh hush puppies.  My Dad put some fresh rosemary in the hot olive oil and it gave the hushpuppies a nice aroma.

Oh, and before all of yesterday occurred, I had a bad tooth pulled and so I endured all my pain (and was popping hydrocodones) and had a great time!!

Today my Dad is gone :(  He gave me his camera he bought last year (he got a new one) so I took lots of good pics (I'll post a few!!).  My tooth is hurting, or rather, lack of tooth, LOL.  All the camp stuff is still all over the house, and so I need to clean and if it stops raining Robbie and & will pack our camp stuff into storage one last time until camp season starts up for us next Spring.

Susan, I haven't been to a salon in soooo long.  I think I would love to get a mani/pedi maybe next month when I have a little more money.  I need some pampering, hehe.

I will call my sister and ask abt the meeting this month.  I am long LONG overdue on a meeting and miss everyone so much.

Thanks for the prayers. Back in October 2001 I woke up in ICU after the first surgery. My husband was standing in the corner crying and I was pinching myself to see if I was dead. LOL We got no explanation as to why I was in ICU. The surgeon just said sometimes things happen but you are fine. So we accepted that explanation and went on. When I saw my urologist last week he saw the report and immediately said get this thing in your throat taken care of right away!  The ENT said it could be my parathyroid but I don't have any elevated calcium levels.
