I bought a small shot glass type measuring glass/cup to measure foods, I also took all of the extra disposable measuring cup (medicine cups) that they give you in the hospital so that I could measure my food at home.

Get baby spoons. And maybe a sippy cup. He'll have to take very small bites of food and sip fluids, no gulping or big swallows allowed.
You might want him to take his own pillow, no one sleeps better than with their own. If he's on a CPAP, make sure to take that. He'll need it in recovery.

Sorry to just be getting back to you.
Who is your DH's doctor? Haven't they given you a list of things for him to eat on his post op diet yet?
Most likely he will be on a full liquid diet wi*****ludes things like fat free cream soups, sugar free jello and puddings, yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce (SF, of course). FF milk(if he can tolerate it), soft cooked or poached(NOT scrambled) eggs.
Sugar free popsicles are great to have around, they go toward his fluid intake
There is an IHOP very close to the hotel, and some fast food types of places all around there. Ask at the front desk, they'll be very helpful, I'm sure.
There is a small mall on the south end of Shackleford that is pretty new, not a lot in there yet, but there is a Cracker Barrell and some other places. There is also a movie theater on Colonel Glen rd, just at the next exit south on 430 from where you are. Again, I'm sure the desk people will be able to help.

Yes, Drug Emporium is our friend. I get a lot of my vitamins there, and am sorry to say, they stopped carrying my protein powder some time ago. Oh well, there are plenty of WLS friendly things there!

Topic: Surgery on Wednesday!
So, giving everyone an update on what's been going on...
Did my liquid diet for the past two weeks because my surgery had to be moved up. Found out I had that notorious "Factor 5" mutation (genetically prone for blood clots) so I'm going in for my filter placement tomorrow and then for the lap band on Wednesday. The filter stays in for a month then I get it taken out.
On the liquid diet I've lost almost 15 pounds. WHEW!
Getting pretty nervous but I'm very excited!
