OMG!!!!!!!

How the heck are you???  Sorry to hear about the pain, but soooooooooooooooo glad to see you back.

Things have been pretty slow around here, now maybe we can get things moving again.

Thanks for making my day!

We'll be in touch.

p.s. sorry about the Quix situation. It was a great idea while it lasted.

Topic: Jumping Back In To OH
I've been away from OH for quite a while.  I know most of you don't know me, but some of you will remember me  - Hi there SusanDoesHair!

I live in NWA and my RNY was done by Dr. John Baker in Little Rock, AR on February 20, 2006.  My highest weight was 328 and my lowest was 188.  I have stayed in that area for over two years.  I would like to get my weight below 150 but Dr. Baker said that he doesn't want me any lower than 175 because he thinks it won't be healthy for me.

I was very active on the Quix weight loss community.  It was much smaller and less dramatic it seems.  But the owner of Quix decided he didn't have time to continue the site so it shut down several months ago.  I've missed it alot and I do need the support of other WLS friends.

I am having a problem with extreme pain right now.  I'll go into that in more detail in another post.  For now, I just wanted to say hello and hopefully I'll be posting me - at least on the AR forum.  I go to the monthly support group meeting in Rogers, AR and have many good friends from that.  We're having a Christmas party and if any of you are going to be in the area, here's the information:

Friday, December 11th
7 PM
Boomers in Rogers, AR

If you can join us, let me know and I'll add you to the guest list!  Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Topic: RE: Happy Thanksgiving! (and Black Friday!)
Thanksgiving was good. Friends brought over food for my family and my daughter followed my instructions and did a good job of stepping into my shoes as head chef. Black Friday was just that for me. I  did not feel well at all. Spent the day on the couch which is normal these days but I didn't get dress until after 2. My chest was hurting so bad it hurt to breathe. I guess that was one of the bad days. Well guys take care.

Topic: The Holidays Are Rough!! Crossing Over to Transfer Addictions
http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/crossingtotransferaddictions/

Hi All,

The Holidays are here: more food, more alcohol, more shopping, more EVERYTHING!!!!

There is a new OH Online Support Group. The above link will get you there.
It's called
Crossing Over to Transfer Addictions

This group discusses the issue of transfer addictions (also known as cross addictions) after weight loss surgery. there are millions of people who have undergone gastric bypass who are now dealing with issues of addiction transfer.

For a number of people, giving up overeating leads to adoption of a new compulsion. Addiction transfer occurs when someone is unable or unwilling to rely on one compulsion (for us, it was food) and so switches to a new compulsion (alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, shopping, internet, porn, etc) due to not having dealt with the underlying issue behind the compulsion.

***Please feel free (and safe) to join and discuss any and/all issues you have regarding Transfer Addiction. ***

WE WILL SUPPORT EACH OTHER WITHOUT JUDGEMENT!

Topic: New group for RNYers in the Ark-La-Tex area
Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a new group on OH for RNYers in the Ark-La-Tex area in northwest Louisiana, East Texas and southwest Arkansas. It's a place to find support, encouragement, information and friendship as you progress in your RNY experience. We can keep in touch on a daily basis online, but I'd love for us to have occasional face-to-face meetings so we can really get to know each other. To join the discussion and become a member go to www.obesityhelp.com/group/ArkLaTexRNY/
