Anyone had lap gastric bypass by this physician? How did things go?

Hi Shanna, Dr. Gibbs did my surgery last year on January 7th. He is THE BEST! I had my surgery at Baptist and everyone there told me he was the MASTER RNY surgeon. My surgery was "textbook" he told me. I have not had any problems and I'm down 72 pounds. I'm only 5 feet tall, but I weighed 211.5 when I went in for surgery. At age 53, I don't mind weighing 139, but my goal is 125. I was in horrible health before my surgery...now, I am medication free and feel better than I have in over 30 years. Dr. Gibbs did my Lap RNY 26 months ago. No complications at all. I returned to work a week later. I am now down 100 pounds.

Yes-LapRNY by Dr. Gibbs...Did great!!! He is wonderful...I'm about 16 mo post op...down more than 100 lbs. He is the best.

Even though I am not in the area now, all my family and friends are RAZORBACKS and for the ones that have had WLS, had Gibbs and had no problem to date, and 2 of them re 4 years out. (Back in my anti-WLS days, now I've come full circle and have a date, amazing how 100lbs and bad knees can change your mind!) Diva
