Self Pay Questions

I live in Missouri and have been desperately searching for a doctor that I can afford for RNY. I have a back up plan of going to Mexico if I can't find someone in the states. I haven't been able to find anyone cheaper than $25000 in Missouri (all inclusive). I only have $14000 right now. Does anyone know of any surgeons in Arkansas that are less than $25000? Or does anyone know of any place that will finance part of the procedure? I could really use some help with this. My husband is pretty stressed about the possibility of Mexico but I am determined to have this done this year!

I'm self pay had lap-band, would never consider RNY. $15,000. Dr. Wellborn in Little Rock. Out pt. surgery, home that night, off pain meds the next day, driving, taking walks, feeling good by the 3rd day. I agree with your husband, please do not go to Mexico. Google search message boards for all the problems that have resulted in Lap Band and RNY in Mexico. If you have a problem or need follow up care you will regret it. HI there, I had my surgery with Dr. Luttrell at St. Vincents. I was self pay, and the total out of pocket was right under 15,000.00 go to the website st vincents bariatric, and research the different surgeons there. Good Luck to you. Angie

Victoria, I had surgery with Dr. Kerry Ozment in Little Rock last March. I think he is a great surgeon. It was around $15,000. He is very experienced. I would agree to do alot of research into your surgeon. There are some that are still performing surgery even after their license has been pulled from other hospitals for mistakes during surgery. Picking the right surgeon is about the most important thing you can do. I traveled from Memphis to Little Rock which is only about 2 hours but you also have to consider the time and distance from the surgeon in case you have problems. Good Luck, corgimom

My husband had open RNY with Dr. Haley Ozment at St. Vincent in Little Rock. He was self-pay and it was around $15K for everything.
