Ins for state employees pays WLS?

Does anyone know about this? I'll be looking for a job soon with insurance that covers WLS. I know Fed does. I heard Home Depot does. Hoping State of Ark ins covers because I have a sneaking suspicion that I have an 'in' on that one. Denise

Most of the State of Arkansas insurances have an exclusion and won't touch WLS even if it's life or death. I work for the state and just had surgery done in Mexico because insurance wouldn't pay. Darice

State Employee Ins. (Health Adv, Qual Choice, BCBS) does not pay for any WLS. mom

Hey thanks for the head's up. I am just flat not going to take a job where the ins doesn't cover wls - and if it were a good job it would just be that much harder to leave in favor of one where it was covered. Next thing I've heard about is Home Depot. Does anyone know whether it's covered for them? Did you guys know that in Maryland, the law requires that it be a covered procedure and the only way they can get around it is if the company employes under 50 people? I have a friend there who just had RNY with absolutely NO troubles or even delays getting approved. So...if they can do that in MD, and it's important enough that the State of Ark pays for it under Medicaid, then it seems like our legislatures should get behind us. Denise in FS
