pre-op question

I go in 2 weeks to st vincents for anesthia labwork and testing. i already did labwork once before i got my pre-op consult and stuff. curious as to what all they are gonna test for now, like do a white cell blood count and stuff? I have a seminar on the 7th, 1 on 1 with Dr Wellborn and testing at st vincents on the 12th and they say my surgery will be the same week as my 1 on 1.

Evelynmarie, Hi! You are in good hands with Dr. Wellborn. He did my WLS on March 10, 2005. I'm not sure what all they test for. I'm sure they do a blood count and type, iron and all your basic levels. All they did was ask a bunch of questions and take blood. I never even knew what the results of the labs were. I'm VERY pleased with the work he did on me. I'm 5 1/2 mos post op and have lost 73lbs. Good Luck! Cathi

Hi Cathi, Thanks for replying. I had originally applied for wls with Dr Baker but he wouldn't do it due to lack of weightloss attempts, but Dr Wellborn saw I had soo many comorbidities and realized how important the surgery is to my health and for me. Did you have the RNY or Lapband, and if you had the RNY was it laparascopic or open surgery?
