I have a Date!!!!
Congratulations Christina!!!
Your life is about to change for the better! The toughest part of this journey is the wait for the next month!
I also had Dr. B. He is a bit intimidating at first, but is the best and most supportive doctor out there! He is aggressively looking out for you!
Interesting, I have a daughter named Christina (used to be Cook) now Shepherd. She lives in Searcy. She has been married 10 years and I still slip up and call her Chrissy Cook sometimes!
There is a support group that meets at Baptist hospital once a month. Watch this site or check with Dr. B's office for announcements.
There is also a forum for June 2005 surgeries run by this site. I have found a lot of friends there who have gone on this journey with me. By the time we had our surgeries last year, we had about 300 people that had checked in. You can also visit the May board to learn from people that are a month ahead of you. The links are at the top of your screen called WLS REUNION.
If you have any questions, fears or concerns, this is a great place to bring them. We want to share your celebrations too--there will be lots. Be sure to take your picture and measurements before surgery. It will be a big help to know how far you have come. Your body will change before your head does.
Best of luck to you!!

Hi Ganell!
Congrats on your date as well then! It looks as if you have been working on this for some time now. I am so happy all your hard work has finally paid off with surgery being scheduled for you. Are you going to be at Baptist as well?
That is really exciting! I would love to know someone going through the same thing. If you will be at Baptist...maybe we can walk together!
I am going back to Dr. Baker's office this Friday to get more information on Nutrition. Courtney (the nutritionist) had lost her voice on the day of my consultation.
Sometimes I find myself thinking it is happening so fast and at other times I think June 1st will never get here! Ha!
Let me know if you will be at Baptist!
Talk to you soon! Congrats again,
Christina
