I have a Date!!!!

Well, it is really going to happen! I just talked to Christy at Dr. Baker's office. I am having my consult next Friday and my surgery date is June 1st! I never dreamed this would happen so soon!

Wow! In five months you have lost 103 lbs?! That is fantastic! Do you have any pointers or advice for me? I would love to hear anything that you have to say. Have you had any problems? I am a single mother of a 9 year old son. I do not get out and do very much right now. Right now I go visit my dad every weekend in Norman (2 hours from here). He recently found out he has cancer. =( Maybe we could get together and walk and/or talk sometime. Thanks, Christina

I SAY TO FOLLOW WHAT DR. BAKER SAYS TO DO.. I WALK EVERYDAY... I THINK THAT HAS HELPED ME... I AM SORRY ABOUT YOUR DAD, MY MOTHER HAD CANCER AND SHE PASSED AWAY IN 1988..... CANCER IS SUCH A BAD WORD..... I WILL KEEP HIM IN MY PRAYERS AND YOU TOO. KEEP ME UPDATED!!!!!!!! I WOULD LOVE TO GET TOGETHER AND MEET YOU... I AM MARRIED WITH 2 KIDS , 12 AND 8 YEAR OLD... Christina, this is great. Hope all goes well with the consult. I had my WLS March 14 and I am out eight weeks and down 31 lbs. I have felt great, the only problem was the first 24 hours after surgery I couldn't have anything, no ice chips, no water, etc. but hey, now that it is over, I am so glad I did this. Just wish the weight would come off faster. ha. Good luck. I will keep you in my prayers. Charlotte

Thanks Charlotte! Congrats on already being on the "losing side"! I really wish I was there already. Even if your weight is not coming off as fast as you would like it to...at least it is coming off! Hi Christina, great to hear you have a date. I also live in Cabot and had surgery with Dr Baker nov 5th 03. IT was the best thing I have ever done. I have 3 kids ages 9-7-3. The were and are so excited that I lost all the weight and now can do anything I want to with them. I am waiting now on my approval letter from ins for my tummy tuck. Hi Deletha! I have a 9 year old son too! At this point he is not real excited about the surgery. He keeps saying he is affraid I won't look like his mommy anymore. He is so sweet! But I tried to explain to him how much healthier and happier I will be. Did you have any problems at all? Was it easy to change your eating habits? I so want to be sucessful! So far there have been several people in Cabot who have had this done. This has become much more common than I was aware of. =) Good luck on your tummy tuck. Let me know how that goes!
