I am stuck at 28 pounds. I'm five and a half weeks post op and I've been stuck for two weeks now. My new scales have not budged! I was expecting to plateau but not this soon. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance! Charlene

Charlene, Don't worry it will start dropping off again. Increase water and protien. Protien is Very, Very Important after Gastric Bypass. You have just started your journey. So don't worry it isn't near over yet. I had Gastric bypass surgery on 9/22/03. I've lost about 224 Pounds and I'm doing Great!!! No problem, Except if I don't chew well and get something stuck or get something that has sugar in it and then I dump, But those are my fault. I'm very happy with my new life. I was so sick before and now all my health problems are gone. Hugs and best wishes Debbie Moya P.S. I was in a size 4x-5x. Now I'm in a size Small-Medium in shirts and form a size 26Plus-28Plus in pants to a size 3-4. I was 354 Pounds now I go form about 130-140 Pounds. I bobble which isn't bad. Dr. Baker 9/22/03 354/138

Hey Charlene, Don't worry. The same thing happened to me. I stopped losing for a couple of weeks right around the same time. It will pick up again. I'm down 60 pounds now. My four month anniversary was yesterday, so I'm dropping about 15 pounds a month on average. Not mind blowing, but not bad. I've gone from 236 to 176. The best surprise was this past weekend when I thought I would buy some size 14's to shrink into, but when I got home and tried them on they were too big. I had to take them back and exchange them for a size 12. I bought 4 pairs. lol. I started out in size 22. Life is wonderful now. No more joint pain or getting out of breath. It's great. So just hang in there and trust me, the weight will continue to come off. You're doing great and as long as you get in your protein, water and exercise (the one thing I need to improve on) the weight will come off. God Bless and take care. Shelia 236/176/125??

Charlene, drink water and exercise. I walked, walked and walked and the weight just came off. I've slowed down during the winter but will start back up again as soon as I can get back outside. Don't have a treadmill. I'm not doing the protien stuff but went to the doctor today, I'm down 103 pounds since May 26th. Have gone from a size 22 to a size 10. Feel great! I've lost 14 1/2 pounds since November so it is slowing down but I feel great. The doctor said today I'd probably lose another 10 to 15 pounds if I work at it in the next year. I'm very happy with the results. So drink water and walk!!!! Good luck! Don't get discouraged! Glenn Gay Springdale

Do not worry- Do what you were told to do. It gets slow- then it starts falling off. I have lost 122 lbs in 11 mo. 262 to 140- It will happen.

Whew! Glad its not just me. I was stuck last week at 25 lbs, but figured with all of the traveling I have been doing since my surgery that it was just taking its toll (my FIL was diagnosed with lung & brain cancer while I was in the hospital last month and we have been making weekly trips to Texas... 4 hrs each way. eek!) Gotta make sure we get lots of water, Charlene! It's been my biggest downfall so far. (((hugs)))

I've been at a plateau myself..in fact, a couple of weeks ago, my scales actually showed I had gained a few pounds!!! I'm still dropping inches (have went from a 34w pants to a 28w) but I have stopped weighing! I haven't weighed in 2 weeks and I am making a promise to myself not to weigh for at least another week. I'm not getting all the protein in that I need, but I am trying. I am walking 1.5 miles each day and plan to increase that next week. It will come off...just keep walking and drinking tha****er! We will be slim before ya know it!! Karen
