New, scared, waiting, 24yr old female from batesville AR rambeling.
Hi. I am Jenni.
I was going to have this surgery last Jan. But insurance bit my in the butt, with a pre exsisting law. Finally a year has passed, and I am readddy. My job just changed our insurance, so things are getting more complicated. I did have Blue Advantage. Now I have Health Link. I am double covered so they are supposed to pay all of the cost. (keeping my fingers crossed)
I had plans to go to Dr. Baker in Little Rock. Well with this new darn insurance comp. they do not cover him. So now I am going to be going to Dr. Lambert in Batesville which has its benifits. 1st. I live only 8 miles from the hospital which means my hubby can be there for me. With Dr. Baker it is over an hour drive, I was going to have to be there by myself. He will have to work and would not be there for me.
Buuut. Dr. Lambert has a couple bad rumours out about him. So which makes things a lil more nerve wrecking.
The reason I have to choose between theese two. My doc said those are the only two he has worked with and if i could not get baker then he would suggest that i go with lambert because lambert has operated on him and his family.
Well. I have a date for my 1st appointment. jan. 27 I have a appointment i do not know if this is my consult or what but she told me there will be about 5 other people there and they will take pictures and weigh you.
Well this is my story. =)
I hope to be here with yall as my new family of support because i really need someone.

Hi Jenni! Welcome!
It sounds like you have been through a lot. I hope your appointment with Dr. Lambert goes well and puts your mind at ease. I can't tell you anything about him, good or bad. I went to Dr. Baker and he is great. But then I live in Little Rock. There are some definite advantages to living near your surgeon when it comes to followup and dealing with any post surgery issues that may arise.
I hope that you can pick up some info on Dr. Lambert here that is helpful. I'm willing to do whatever I can to help.

I met dr lambert today. As far as i see i think he a very nice person. he answered all of our questions wonderfully. he stayed till all of the questions were answered. i kinda was confused when i heard answers that questioned what i heard of the web. like you are allowed to drink pop 3 wks after if you can handle it. i was told no more pop forever. i was also told you had to sleep in a recliner for 1-2 weeks after you come home sleeping in a bed is too hard. well he said you can go home and sleep in your bed right away unless you have a cpap. because you can not use it they prefer you sleep sitting up. umm.... i guess those two are the only things i can think of right now. she said now we are waiting for them to call and start the apptments. his nurse told me with my insur. company i may have to have my psych evaluation before they send it off to the insur. compay. i wish they could just send it off and hurry and get an answer. we are going to FL next week. kinda wish i wasn't now because what if they call. lol. but i have not see my dad in 3 years it should be good. just hate that he has to see me on this side and not as a big loser.
well my hands are froze. i will be posting soon.

Every Dr. is diff. My Dr. Dr. baker says NO soda, NO sugar, fat free, sugar free, you max out at 1/2 a cup of food, NO recliner list goes on. You get out of this surgery what you put into it. I am very pleased with my results some do better then others. Me at 5 ft. 9 lost 217 in 16 mo. it is now 18 mo. for me. I am in a size 6/8 and smalls. I am happy with the results but sometime I wish I was smaller but then I know I would look bad. My body is comfortable with this weight. Once after plastic surgery I will be in the 140's or 150's so that is pretty cool. I am used to being 381 so this 164 is ok by me

Jenni,
Hi I am new to this site so I hope I am doing this right. I used Dr. Lambert for my gastric bypass surgery. He was wonderful. His staff is wonderful. Betty Willette can and will answer any questions you have. I too looked at Dr.Baker in Little Rock first however the distance was a factor also I wanted my surgery done lap. if possible. And to my understanding Dr.Baker only does it open. When Dr.Lambert first started doing the surgery mostly people from the hospital was having it done. As word got around people started coming from all around to have Dr.Lambert to do their surgery. I have also heard rumors on Dr.Lambert but you know what, you hear rumors on every doctor. People talk. Some know what they are talking about and some do not. You can ask me anything you would like. I will answer you honestly. Let me know if I can help. Connie
