Surgery scheduled!
Hi Everyone,
Well, it looks like my surgery will be Jan. 19! I am scared of course!
Dr. Luttrell is doing it at St. Vincents, 7:30 am.
I am severely diabetic and have read that research has shown that 80% of diabetics who have WLS go back to normal sugars, even before they have lost much wt. Has anyone had any experience with this? Dr. Luttrell
comfirmed that his patients were experiencing this.
I've noticed some negative comments about the nursing care at St. Vincents. I'm an old, picky nurse, so not the best patient anyway, and my family won't be able to be with me except the day of surgery. I plan to stay another 2 days at the Guesthouse Inn after I am discharged since I live 4 hours away, and up here in the hills we don't have the best of hospitals. I'll have many questions for ya'll as the time gets closer.
God Bless everyone, both post and re-op.
Charlene, I know it's getting cose for you, and you are in my prayers,
Sharon Terune
Yeah, Sharon! I'm so glad you finally got your date! I have you in my prayers too! I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Luttrell. I am sure he would not have anyone but the best to look after his patients. You are going to go through this just fine! I will keep you updated on my progress after my surgery. If you need to ask questions, just email me, or any other post-opper. I have met some good people on this message board that want to help. The support here is wonderful! Oh about the sugar question...I have a good friend that had this done several years ago who was diabetic...her sugar returned to normal and is no longer taking insulin. I hope all goes perfect for you.
God bless,
Charlene
