Finally, I have a confirmed Date!
I just got off the phone with Carrie at Dr. Gibbs' office. My date for my surgery is January 7th. It just feels so good to finally have her give me a day to look forward to. I am so ready! I will go up the day before for all my pre op stuff and will most likely spend the night with my niece. She lives really close to the hospital so it will make it easier to get up and go the next morning. I'm excited and I can't wait!!! Please keep me in your prayers. God is so good!.
YEAH FOR CHARLENE! I am so happy for you! What a Christmas Present you got!You GO GIRL! Hoping for Jan 10th, but will not know until after the 21st. Really wanted Dr. Gibbs, but he does not take Medicare Patients, guess they do not pay enough. But, I am so very glad for you! )))))))))))))))) Keep looking Forward (((((((((((((((((((((

Thank you Angie, Joy and Patti,
I am just elated. I can't believe this is all happening for me. I really do feel blessed. All of yall have been so supportive, and reading the message boards and profiles of the "postees" has really been encouraging.
Please keep me in your prayers...I know as time gets closer I'm going to become more anxious. I hope you all have a very joyous new year as a new you emerges!
God Bless,
Charlene
Charlene,
Yea! Three Cheers!! I'm hoping for Jan. 10th. Got financing in place just gotta do all the paperwork.
I was in the hospital for three days with nausea and vomiting, got out Tues. I really am worried about the fact that I have n&v quite a bit, any little thing can set it off. I had 6 teeth extracted and the oral surgeon said he was going to "put me out for it". I was apprehensive about that He put the gas mask on, then started an IV and started drawing up stuff in one syringe so I took the mask off and asked him what he was giving me, he said,"oh, some pentathal, demerol, valium and atropine and anything else I might need! I wanted to jump up and run but the gas already had me looped I didn't go "out", but it made me sicker than a horse couldn't keep anything down for 3 days and finally went to the hospital. Did a lot of thinking about the surgery while being so sick and thought what if I had staples or sutures in my stomach and intestines. I think I am going to go back to Dr. Luttrell for another consult after making a list of everything I want to discuss before I schedule. Anyway that's my story right now, didn't mean to get into all that, just meant to say congrats!

Oh my gosh, Sharon! You have been through it! I hope you are feeling much better! I've had those same concerns (about throwing up). I'll cross that bridge when and if I get there, I guess. I hope you are able to have your surgery on the 10th and I hope you get to feeling much better really soon! Thanks for the kudos. Keep me updated on your progress. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

YIPPEEE!!! Congrats Charlene. Dr. Gibbs does great work. I haven't felt this good in ten years. Just keep a positive attitude and follow his instructions and you'll come through with flying colors. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a quick and speedy recovery. I'm pretty new at this myself, but if you have any questions or just need to talk, let me know. God Bless and Happy Holidays.

Thank you Shelia for all your encouragement and your prayers. Don't be surprised if I start asking a whole lot of questions. I'm keeping a positive attitude and ignoring some ignorant remarks from skinny friends. Oh I know, they mean well, but, geeez! they should try walking in my shoes. I just want to look them in the eye and say, "Would you rather look and feel like you, or would you rather look and feel like me?" I know what the obvious answer is, but you would think they would think before they speak. Oh well, I'm about over that bridge too and soon I'll be walking on the losing side. I CAN'T WAIT!!! I hope you have a blessed holiday season and thanks again.

Congratulations! That is so great that you got a date. Eat your favorite foods between now and then! Since the surgery, I'm not hungry, but food still looks good. It makes me a little sad when I can't eat something. I know that for the most part it's mostly temporary. I honestly didn't think that I would have these feelings. My husband had just a regular ole pb&j on tuesday and it was the best thing that I ever smelled! Anyway, i just thought I would warn you about that.
