am I done with wt lose?
HI
I need some advise and probably encouragement from my fellow RNY friends. I am 16 months post lap RNY, I started at about 270 (maybe higher, the pre surgery feast ya know) and I am 5'3". I have NEVER lost weight fast, always been a slow loser. Maybe from all the yrs of dieting maybe my age, I am 50 yr old! Anyway I have lost 85 lbs and have gone from a 26W to 16 ladies 100% cotton jeans!...and if there is stretch, a size 14. In shirts I can wear Lg. I am wondering if I am done with the wt loss? I have not lost any wt in about 4 wks but a couple of months ago I did the same thing, no wt lost, then I dropped 15 lbs in the next 8 wks. I am planning on lipo suction and PS when I am done with the weight loss. Is this it? I have been kind of disappointed in myself, felt at times like I "failed this too" I need to hear from some folks who have been here before me.

I'm only 6 months out and have hit a slow weight loss but I've lost 90 pounds. I've gone from a 22 to as size 10 or 12 and feel great about that. I have read when you hit these lulls you should up your protein and water and exercise more. That's what I'm trying to do. I was going to water aerobics at the Jones Center 3 nights a week but have not been in a month. Gonna try to start back next week! I feel better when I exercise!
Keep us posted.

You've done a great job and should be proud of yourself. You may just be on a plateau right now. Like Glenn said, you should up your protein and water and kick the exercise up a little and I bet you will see the scale start to move again. Everyone says that your weight should be stable (within 5 to 10 pounds) for at least six months before you go for plastics. There are some on the message board who didn't follow those guidelines and ended up dropping more weight after their plastics and are dealing with loose skin again. The best person to advise you on the plastics is a plastic surgeon. They will know if it's the right time for you. Good luck on your continued weight loss.
