Hi all! I live in little rock, and am looking into having wls. Could you all give me any support/informational groups or seminars I could go to? Also, I do not have insurance--are there any other options for financial help? I weigh 392 and know little about wls. I mean I know what happens in the surgery and the risks/rewards but I don't know much else. Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.

Alltson, All the info you need is right here! Plan on spending a lot of time reading. Use every link on the top and read, read, read! I really cannot give you any ideas without any insurance coverage, but maybe someone else can help you there! Best of luck to you! And do not forget, read, read, read! Dr. Gibbs, in Little Rock holds some wonderful seminars that explains a lot to you,you can find his page under Ar surgeons. Whether or not you can go is up to you. Pat (Patticake)

Hi Allyson, If you call Dr. Gibbs' office, Carrie will give you an appointment for the wls seminar. His office offers financing for the surgery if your insurance will not pay. I agree with Pat...you need to read, read, read. I enjoy looking at the "before and after" pictures in the "gallery". They really increase my enthusiasm toward having this surgery. Good luck and I hope the best for you. Charlene

Hi Allyson, If you go down several post, you'll see where I have given a breakdown on the cost for having surgery with Dr. Gibbs. In their information packet they list a phone number for a finance company that several of their patients have used. They don't list the name of the company, but the number is 888-440-2375 I hope this helps. Good Luck, Melissa
