Has anyone run into resta...
Has anyone run into restaurants not letting you purchase kids meal? I am a firm believer in be part of the solution, not part of the problem...any suggestions. At the two that refused to sell me a kids portion, I 1) didn't order and took my few bites from family members plates, 2) have written a letter to the general managers along with copies of my smaller portion request card from Dr. Gibbs...any other suggestions? If not in existence, would anyone be interested in pulling a list together of those bizs with managers needing education on this? I am sure if they understand the situation (better to sell a small meal than none), better to not waste food and so on, they will be open to solutions. Any other ideas?
There are MANY restaurants that do not honor a kids menu price for posties.
Although we have been surgically altered, it doesn't impair our ability to get a to-go box. Now of course this does not work at buffets.
It's not often you can get a meal for $4-$7 and have 6 or more meals from it. *grin*
As an early post-op, I only had a few instances of managers not taking my card. Once I explained myself, most were agreeable. It may take a different or diplomatic approach.
At 3+ years post-op, I no longer use my card.
Don't sweat it. If the manager simply won't budge, just walk out. There are plenty of other eateries that will be more than happy to have you patronize their establishment.
I too have had the same problem here in Fort Smith. Western Sizzlin would not honor my card after being told they would. I showed it to the lady at the register and the manager came by and changed my ticket to an adult. If I'd been smart instead of mad, I'd gotten a to go box and gotten my full price on the salad bar. Needless to say, I haven't been back and I tell everyone how rude the management was about this. What a shame. I usually just get something off of the appertizers, which works then I take them home for the next meal and the next meal and the next meal.... Now time to brag- down 80 lbs since March 30, 2004. Good luck and don't give up.... there's always Taco Bell.
