I've got a date!!!!
I wish you all the luck in the world. You have a GREAT Doctor. Dr. Gibbs did my surgery on July 26th and I have already lost 50 pounds as of this morning. My surgery was lap and I was up that afternoon walking the halls. Just do what they tell you to do and you will be up and at it again in no time. This is no walk in the park, but if you will follow the rules you will feel so much better. I do - 50 pounds is alot of weight to carry around with you. I will keep you in my prayers.
Sheila, will keep you in thoughts and prayers. It's not easy but thank God there are lights at the end of the tunnel. Walk as soon as you can, try to stay off the pain meds, and sip your water. When you get home do the same thing. I did not stay seated or in the bed but for the first few days. I've been walking ever since. I joined a water aerobics group at Jones Center 3 nights a week. I'm down 67 pounds and have gone from a size 22W to a size Large. I feel better than I have in years. I am having some protien trouble because I just couldn't drink the shakes.
Have found a wonderful protien bar called Snickers marathon. It is good and I try to eat one a day, eat tuna, fish, chicken or shrimp every day.
Good luck and keep us posted.
