Help! Gas is killing me!

Does anyone have any idea's on how to get relief from the gas? I am 6 days out and feel like I am dying. Is the gas from the food, pain meds, etc.? Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Take a couple of Gas X or anything else with simethicone in it. Did you have lap surgery.?If you did I think you will get gas worse than people who have open rny, especially between the shoulder blades. Are you drinking milk? If so, it is possible that you are now lactose intolerant from the surgery. Take some lactaid or generic equivelent before drinking milk, or try soy milk or lactaid milk. There are several milk options at your grocer. Have some one rub your back. It seemed to help me. The pain will get better. I looked at your profile. I too was at St. Vincents. I had a wonderful british nurse named Pat, who truly was my angel. Do you remember Sherri? She worked graveyard-pretty girl in her thirties, very high strung. she would ask you your name in several ways before dispensing your meds. She bothered me at first but eventually grew on me. I had complications and was there for some time so I really got to know the nurses. I also liked Phil who worked graveyard. He was a short man with gray hair and glasses. There were other good nurses but i don't recall their names. But foe every good one there were some terrible ones with NO personality and didn't seem at all interested in the patient. I use beano for gas. Also walking helps a lot. Gas is normal for us although not much fun.
