update
Hiya.. Well I give ya all an update..I got out of Southcrest this morning around 10AM and was home by noon. I'm still sore but moving around pretty good. Dr.Kirk told me to drink, pee, and walk so thats what I'm doing. Everything went fine. Surgery was about 2 1/2 hours and I was sitting on the edge of my bed by that late afternoon. The next morning I was up walking the halls for short walks and using the restroom fairly regular. The worst for me was trying to wake up from the anesthetics. I felt like I was drowning and that I was having to fight for air..Didn't like that at all. Thankfully it didn't last very long. The ride home went ok..course the pain meds helped a bunch..lol So anyway I on the losing side with lots of water to sip and broth to look forward to. I have my 2 week checkup on July 29th so We'll see how the losing goes then..Thanks for all your prayers.

I can't believe you got home this morning and are using the computer already! It will be 2 weeks for me tomorrow. The surgery for me was a breeze - I had an epidural. I really don't feel I've had any physical problems, but I have experienced severe depression. Everyone I've talked to says that depression doesn't happen often, but that it does happen. I pray that you don't have to go through this. The first week I was home I couldn't focus on anything - TV, computer games, books (I'm an AVID reader). Everyone said it was from the anesthetic and would wear off. I seem to be getting that back - THANK GOD!
I'd be interested in how you're handling the food portion of your recovery. I'm REALLY struggling! I guess my mind can't accept that I basically have to eat the same things over and over and over and over . . . .
Good luck and let me know how you're doing.
