Only one more question for today!
I thought of something else I needed to ask you post-op folks! I'm just getting started with all of this, and there is so much documentation to be written and gotten...I don't know where to start! So, when I go to visit my surgeon on the 26th, will they let me know how to get in touch w/ a dietician and such? I feel stoopit for asking, but I haven't really researched this business end of getting the surgery; I'm wingin' it. Also, when should I try to get approved by my insurer...before or after the consultation? Any help is appreciated.
Brandy,
When you go to your Consult they should help you out with all this stuff. All I did was fill out Dr. Bakers packet and it said exactly what He needed and he phoned the Insurance. I had to get a refural from my PCP to see Dr. Baker and of course a letter recommending Weight loss surgery from my PCP. And Any hospital Record pertaining to health problems due to my weight. And my diet history. Of course like I said all of the things I needed to get were in the packet Dr. Baker sent me before consultation. My Insurance turned me Down so I had to go through Arkansas Rehab. And that was a pain thay had all sorts of Info they needed. But thats okay, Because they approved the surgery and I'm happier and healthier than I have ever been In my life and I'm 39 years young.
Hope this helps Hugs Debbie Moya
