Well, I made the quick trip to town to get the allergy shots and deliver the last two letters ( maybe?) to Arkansas Rehab. Ones from allergist and pulmonologist. Also I asked for a copy of everything they had on me on file so far. Asked if she had heard from her supervisor yet, as she had told me that he had them. Supposedly he has had them for weeks. Well she said that they would go through a medical review board in Little Rock and they would let us know. She told me that her supervisor could make the decision rather to send them off if he wanted to. That he could approve it himself if I qualified. I asked her if there was a problem with my paperwork. She said she didn't think so but she really didn't know. I asked if she had not heard anything from him at all? She said she guessed he had not looked at them and that they would go through the medical review board. I got home and looked at my file. There are no medical records at all, ( she told me they could get them) other than what their doctor had to say about me from her examination. Medical review and mental evaluation. She recommends weight loss surgery or weight loss program in Little Rock . I can't go to Little Rock every week for a year! My vehickle has over 100,000 miles on it and the price of gas?!!!!!! I have not been employed for two years. What am I gonna do? There was much said about getting proof that my doctor recommended the surgery. I guess his written, signed and dated letter to them isn't enough. Exactly what all do they need? 1. Proof that I dieted supervised for 6 months 2. Proof that I have been obese for atleast 5 years 3. proof that I have a BMI of atleast 55? 4. proof that he recomended the surgery or advised me to have it? 5. proof that significant weight loss would help my situation What else do they want? They are not going to go out of their way to do their job. How can I do it for them so as to not get weighed down ?(pardon the pun) I am just so mad. She is supposed to be my advocate. Right? She is my case worker-councelor (sp?) - WHATEVER! I mean is she supposed to be helping me? I guess I will have to go and see my pcp and beg for this stuff from him. Make copies and take it to them. Well, thanks for listening. I feel some better already. But, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Girl Don't give up now!! Yes your councelor is suppose to help you but sometimes they think they can just screw off and take there time. What they don't relize is some people's health is so bad they may not have that much time. You have to take the bull by the horn's and steer that sucker. Get copies from your Dr. and keep copies for your self. They do tend to lose stuff. I kept all copies of my stuff. Your letter from your Dr. needs to state that you have tried numerous diets and non have worked and it is detramental to your health that you have gastric bypass surgery. Please don't give up. It is worth fighting for. I Thank God every day for giving my surgeon the skill to help me live. Debbie Moya Dr. Baker 9/22/03 354/174/147
