Help !!! Blue Cross Blue Sheild of Arkansas

I have blue cross blue shield of Arkansas which only pays 50 % up to $4000. Has anyone has anyone had the surgery with this insurance and how did you handle the bills after surgery? Please help. Doctors appointment scheduled for 5/10/04 surgery can be within 3 weeks. I need the surgery but don't want to be stuck with thousands of dollars worth of bills. feel free to email me at [email protected]

Hi Tam, I used to have similar insurance a few years back. I honestly think it is just another slap in the face. I mean what kind of help is that? Still puts this out of reach for most of us. Ofcourse the insurance I have now has a written exclusion policy. As far as I was concerned; the other one might just as well have been a written exclusion policy too. I mean it excluded me from getting it done..

Tammy, Have you thought about Arkansas Rehab. They paid for my whole surgery. My insurance had a witten Exclution. They may help you with the remander of the bill. I work and that was a concern that they wouldn't help because I work, But that was not the case. They would rather you be trying to work. But you have to have a BMI of 55 or higher. Just a thought, It can't hurt to check them out. Hugs Debbie Moya
