I am beginning to search for a surgeon for either a laparoscopic RNY or a Duodenal Switch. Can anyone give me some feedback on surgeons in the Little Rock/Hot Springs area. I appreciate any advice. Thanks

If you're looking for a laparascopic RNY then the best in Arkansas is Dr. Gibbs. He was my doctor and I highly reccomend him. He's in Little Rock. Cheryl

Hi Anne, Dr. Gibbs in Little Rock is my surgeon. I checked into the doctors around this area by asking the nurses. Dr. Gibbs came highly reccommended. I will have my consult with him today and my surgery on April 5th. I was impressed with his knowledge and attitude about healthy living. Always ask the doctor how many of his surgeries have gone bad. Check on the hospital stats for this type of surgery and the doctors performing them. Ask how many of this surgery the doctor has performed. Hope this is helpful. God bless you, Dodie

Anne, I had open R-N-Y But as far as a surgeon goes I used Dr. Baker and he is The best in the world to me. He is a Hard ass, But that's because he is giving you the tool to change your life and Doesn't want it to go to wast. He ask you some serious Question's and believe me they get you thinking. Some people even get upset because they think he is an ass. But to tell you the truth he really cares. I researched all surgeon's around and his record was the best. I couldn't be happier! I'm 6 month's out and I've lost 152 Lbs. I have a whole new life and I think God every day for giving me such a caring surgeon. I was wearing size 4x-5x shirts and size 28-30 Pluse size pants. Now I'm in Large shirts and 14/16 Regular pants. Hugs Debbie Moya and Best wishes on your journey no matter which surgeon you choose. Dr. Baker 9/22/03 354/202/147
