Confused!

What can you do if the dr. tells you that you are "too thin" for the surgery, but you know that you need it? I have a BMI of 38, hypertention, back problems, sleep apnea (even after throat surgery) among other things. He didn't even take those into consideration! Is it possible to be reconsidered, or do I need to find another doctor? Thanks for your thoughts! Terri

Some docs. are very strict about what they consider approriate for wls. you probably will not be able to change his mind. I would suggest going to another doc. Good luck.

I would also suggest another doctor. He may be reacting because the insurance companies tend to see it that way. You will have an insurance battle, but if your comorbidities are well documented along with your diet attempts, you may well prevail. I did. Good luck to you! Don't give up. Joy
